Perhaps it's an iron meteorite. They frequently have large holes like this one:
Or this one:

I never said nor suggested the rock was made by aliens. I merely said it was unusual looking.

True, but most of the holes in the pictures you posted are round, and the possible hole on the rock in question looks rectangle.

The "glasses" in the first image look like the ones everyone wore back in the 50's and 60's.
Not sure what catches your interest in the second picture.

After viewing the latest high resolution pictures from the Spirit Lander, and also viewing a 3-D image taken on Sol 2, It seems as though the rectangle hole is just a trick of the shadows. I have included the 3-D photo and a B&W picture taken on Sol 9 along with an edited version that shows how the "rectangle hole" could be created with just a jagged edge of the rock and shadows.
The good news is, due to airbags from the lander getting in the way, Spirit rover had to turn and take a different exit path than the one they originally planned. The exit Spirit is now going to take is facing directly toward "Rectangle Hole Rock", so there should be some new pictures from different angles on Thursday or Friday of this week. I will do an update when the new pictures are available or if I receive a reply email from NASA
