His opening article makes an important point -- that there's a real link between the pro-Saddam, anti-American people our left wing and the pro-Saddam, anti-American terrorists in the Middle East. They all believe the U. S. is the root of all evil.
"Everybody get back! She got a loaded beaver!"
You had better take this stuff seriously, folks:
...Recently, my hometown newspaper featured a front page article by none other than a muslim professor teaching at our local college. His article, of course, was against the war in Iraq and was anti-American. I just shuddered because I know 90% of the people in our town disagree with everything he said and everything he stands for but few will say anything because of political correctness. Also, his status as a professor protects him. Homeland security had better be monitoring EVERY mideast "professional" who has come to this country over the past 30 years. This is war and it is here.
Just like what's going on Pakistan right now.
Three months ago I read from an Iranian student that AQ next move would be to aquire Paks Nukes. I have raised that info on this forum many times but no one seemed interested ...
If you want to understand the Middle East conflict, Iran has just provided all you need to know. A massive earthquake kills between 20,000 and 40,000 Iranians, and the government of Iran announces that help is welcome from every country in the world
except Israel.

Zombie: The Red Cross Ambulance Incident
Zombies latest is a massive exposé of a particularly ugly bit of Hizballah propaganda, that was quickly and efficiently circulated by our always-willing-to-be-fooled mainstream media: The Red Cross Ambulance Incident.
Introduction
On the night of July 23, 2006, an Israeli aircraft intentionally fired missiles at and struck two Lebanese Red Cross ambulances performing rescue operations, causing huge explosions that injured everyone inside the vehicles. Or so says the global media, including Time magazine, the BBC, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and thousands of other outlets around the world. If true, the incident would have been an egregious and indefensible violation of the Geneva Convention, and would constitute a war crime committed by the state of Israel.
But there's one problem: It never happened.

Heres an update on that Hitler-themed Indian restaurant, as the manager of the place complains that nobodys objecting to all those other Hitler-themed businesses.
Those who run the 1,000 sq ft restaurant have removed a poster of Hitler and the swastika pasted in the restaurant following the outrage from the Jews. But they are refusing to bend further and change its name.
I have no sympathy for Adolf Hitler. The name was just chosen because it seemed so radically different from any other restaurant name. I dont understand why no one has raised objections to at least a dozen such brand names, 26-year-old managing director Punit Sabhlok said.
Furiously rattling off the names of kids fashion labels, liquor brands and tobacco products bearing Hitlers name, Sabhlok said similar standards would have to be applied to everybody.
I dont wish to change the name of my restaurant, but if they insist, I would want them to change the names of all these other brands as well. Why only me?

Spencer on Laura Ingraham Show
I just did a segment of the Laura Ingraham Show, debating Dr. Esam Omeish, president of the Muslim American Society. I didn't get the chance to give prior notice here, but I understand it will be broadcast again later today.
A few observations: I pointed out that every school of Islamic jurisprudence teaches that it is the responsibility of the Muslim community to wage war against unbelievers in order to establish the hegemony of Islamic law. Dr. Omeish in response said that yes, Islam must be spread all over the world, but the primary way to do this was through preaching. I responded, referring to the hadith Sahih Muslim 4294, that Muhammad commanded preaching first, but warfare against those who rejected the message. Dr. Omeish said this was a misrepresentation of Islam, but offered no supporting evidence for his position.
A little while later Laura Ingraham referred to the case in Malaysia where Lina Joy, a convert to Christianity, is having such a hard time, including death threats. I explained that this resulted from the traditional Islamic death penalty against apostates, and quoted Muhammad's dictum, "If anyone changes his religion, kill him." Ingraham then asked Dr. Omeish if Sharia indeed mandated death for apostasy. He said flatly that it didn't, whereupon I said, "He's lying!" but I don't know if my mic was on.
Dr. Omeish offered no evidence for his position. Here is evidence for mine:
1. Muhammad legislated for his community that no Muslim could be put to death except for murder, unlawful sexual intercourse, and apostasy: "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims" (Bukhari 9.83.17). He said flatly: Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him (Bukhari 9.84.57).
2. Muslim governments and people seem to understand this well. Here are some recent pertinent news items -- leaving aside the famous Abdul Rahman case in Afghanistan:
Wave of arrests of Christian converts from Islam for apostasy in Egypt
Malaysia: Mufti urges action against apostates from Islam
Pakistan: Woman Raped for Leaving Islam
Pakistan's top cleric: if a state is truly Islamic it would have to kill the apostate
Nigeria: Pastor faces arrest for harboring convert from Islam
Qaradawi endorses death penalty for apostasy
Muslim apostates cast out and at risk from faith and family
I would, of course, be happy to debate Dr. Omeish at greater length. If Dr. Omeish or his representatives are reading this, you can reach me at director@jihadwatch.org.
"About 6 years ago I heard David Horowitz make a very astute observation about liars. He was debating (on radio)a woman who was lying, and Horowitz directly called her a liar. She was silent. Then David said that every time he has ever called a real liar a liar, they were either silent or gave some not authentic response to the charge. He said that when one calls an honest person a liar that one can be sure they will become truly angry and give definite evidence that they are telling the truth."
Airplane Terrorism Case Prompts Questions About the Work of Islamic Charities in Britain
If a Muslim cannot fight in jihad himself, Islamic law stipulates that he must aid in the jihad in some way if a Muslim land is attacked. Hence many do so through monetary donations, which, as we have seen in recent years, are often funneled through Islamic charities.
From the New York Times, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
LONDON, Aug. 23 Once again, with another alleged terror plot that has a possible connection to a charity, the question is being asked here, with more urgency: To what extent do Muslim charities on the surface noble and selfless mask movements and money for terrorists and extremist groups? The question has a long history, here and in the United States, but no precise answer. A quick bottom line, though, seems to be this:
Charitable groups, experts agree, continue to play a role in the financing and operations surrounding terrorist groups and plots. But with more scrutiny since the Sept. 11 attacks demonization, the charities say the role of charities seems to be changing: diminishing somewhat but also growing more subtle and harder to detect.
Anyone who has bothered to study terrorist financing at the most shallow level knows the role that charities have played since 1985, said Evan F. Kohlmann, an American expert on terrorism who acts as a consultant to American and British prosecutors. Even if charities arent playing a primary role, it is almost certain that they are playing a secondary role.
Read it all.

The usual suspects are lining up to defend Javed Iqbal for illegally providing access to the Hizballah hate network Al-Manar: Islander in TV terror link. (Hat tip: LawHawk.)
Earlier this year, the U.S. Treasury Department designated al-Manar as a global terrorist entity, freezing its U.S. assets and contending it supported Hezbollahs fund-raising and recruiting activities. Hezbollah, a Shiite Muslim militant group, has been at war with Israel in Lebanon.
Authorities charged Javed Iqbal with conspiring to violate the International Emergency Economic Protection Act which is designed to prevent terrorist groups from conducting business by blocking transactions and freezing assets after federal agents executed search warrants at two storefronts in Brooklyn and Iqbals Mariners Harbor home. If convicted, he could spend up to five years in prison.
At least eight satellite dishes some of them several feet tall were visible behind a white garage in back of Iqbals nondescript house on Van Name Avenue yesterday. A surveillance camera hung from the second story of Iqbals house, aimed at the front door and the adjacent sidewalk. ...
Iqbals lawyer Mustapha Ndanusa yesterday called the accusations completely ridiculous and said he was unaware of any other instance in which someone was accused of violating U.S. laws by enabling people to access news outlets with a satellite dish.
Farhan Memon, who was assisting Ndanusa on the case, likened the charges to Iran or China banning major U.S. news stations and branding them terrorist outlets. Americans would be hopping up and down crying, Freedom of speech! Freedom of the press! Memon said. ...
A few houses down the block, neighbors questioned why broadcasting al-Manar was illegal. Its just giving two sides to the story, said one man, who also wouldnt give his name. He wasnt taking the popular position in this country.
The ACLU says terrorist propaganda is protected speech under the First Amendment.
Donna Lieberman of the American Civil Liberties Union said she is deeply troubled that a television distributor is being prosecuted for the content of a broadcaster. Such a prosecution, she said, raises serious First Amendment concerns. She said she thinks that the law under which Iqbal has been charged has a First Amendment exception for news communications.
MEMRI TV has an extensive collection of video clips from Al-Manar, if youre unfamiliar with the genocidal, racist hatred they espouse.

CNN Will Replay 9/11 Coverage (Really?)
For the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attacks, CNN.com is going to replay their coverage.
NEW YORK - CNN will mark the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks by replaying on the Internet the cable networks coverage of that days events.
Viewers can watch how events unfolded starting at 8:30 a.m., minutes before the first reports of an airplane hitting the World Trade Center. The feed will run in real time, as the network showed it five years ago, until midnight.
For the day, CNN will make its online video service, CNN Pipeline, available for free. Normally, viewers pay $2.95 a month or $24.95 a year for four separate video feeds.
Online viewers will be able to watch live reports of memorial services through one of the feeds. So that viewers wont accidentally stumble upon graphic footage from 2001, the replay feed will be covered with a notice instructing users to click only if they want to watch.
Our users may choose to view the stream of coverage from Sept. 11, 2001, or live coverage of memorial services at Ground Zero, or they may click through the numerous interactive elements on the site, said David Payne, senior vice president and general manager of CNN.com. They have the power to determine the best way for them to remember the anniversary.
It will be interesting to see if they replay this report from the Palestinian Authority, one of the only existing records of the celebrations that took place on that day, after Palestinians threatened news agencies into pulling all their photos and video from the wires.
"...the film clips of celebrations in Gaza on 9/11 cemented my opinion for good. There are no words that could ever rationalize that disgusting display by evil people." This LGF thread about the experiences of readers on September 11, 2001 is the most compelling, intense reading that I have ever experienced.

On My Desk: Blackfive's Book
Over the weekend, I will mention some of the books currently on my desk, in various states of review. However, I just received a new book, The Blog of War, that deserves a special mention. It's a collection of milblog essays compiled by one of the best milbloggers in the 'sphere, Blackfive -- under his real name, Matthew Currier Burden. Simon & Schuster Paperbacks just released it in the "trade-book" format. It looks like an excellent read, and I'm hoping to get to it as soon as I get through a prior commitment to another author.
In the meantime, however, CQ readers can beat me to the punch by ordering the book for themselves. Let's support one of our own in his new venture.

What are we seeing when we watch events from the Middle East on our television screens? Is it news or is it terrorist theater?
Caroline Glick writes in her column today "Our World: Terrorist theater tricks" here:
As each day passes, the governments, formal and informal legal apparatuses, and media of free societies show themselves to be less and less capable of contending with the information operations conducted against their societies by subversive forces seeking their destruction.
The blogosphere, and particularly Little Green Footballs, Powerline, Zombietime, Michelle Malkin, and EU Referendum, have relentlessly exposed the systematic staging of news events, fabrication of attacks against relief workers, and doctoring of photographic images by Hizbullah with the active assistance of international organizations and the global media.
[..]
As each day passes it becomes clear that the responsibility of protecting our nations and societies from internal disintegration has passed to the hands of individuals, often working alone, who refuse to accept the degradation of their societies and so fight with the innovative tools of liberty to protect our way of life. The vigilance of just a handful of bloggers brought us the knowledge of the corruption of our media and the network of global NGOs that we have come to rely on to tell us the "objective" truth.
It is up to all citizens of the free world, who value our freedom to recognize this corruption, applaud the bloggers and join them in refusing to allow these corrupt institutions to cloud our commitment to freedom
Glick describes the media as jihad tool;
AS IS the case with the Palestinian war against Israel, one of the most notable aspects of Hizbullah's latest campaign against Israel has been the active collaboration of news organizations and international NGO's in Hizbullah's information war against Israel. Like their rogue state sponsors, subversive sub-national groups like Hizbullah, Fatah and Hamas, see information operations as an integral part of their war for the annihilation of Israel and defeat of the West. And their information operations are more advanced than any the world has seen. As becomes more evident with each passing day, they have successfully corrupted both the world media and the community of NGOs that purportedly operate in a neutral manner in war zones READ IT ALL HERE

Britain 'is now biggest security threat to US'
And not because of soccer yobs. From The Telegraph, with thanks to Roseanne:
Britain now presents a greater security threat to the United States than Iran or Iraq, an American magazine said yesterday. In an article on Islamists headlined "Kashmir on the Thames", the New Republic painted Britain's Muslim communities as a breeding ground for violent extremism.
Citing recent opinion poll evidence suggesting that one in four British Muslims believed that last year's London Tube bombings were justified, the magazine said: "In the wake of this month's high-profile arrests, it can now be argued that the biggest threat to US security emanates not from Iran or Iraq or Afghanistan, but rather from Great Britain, our closest ally."...
Many have been appalled both by the existence of enthusiastic jihadis in British cities and by the call from some of their leaders for a change in the country's foreign policy.
Other publications and the think-tanks that shape public debate in America have also issued stern criticism both of Britain's Muslims and of the Government. Nile Gardiner, of the Right-wing Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Telegraph yesterday that Americans were coming to view Britain as "a hornet's nest of Islamic extremists" and thought it posed ''a direct security threat to the US".
He said that if British-based terrorism continues, America is likely to respond harshly.
"A major concern would be the tightening of travel restrictions unless the authorities start to crack down on Islamist militancy," he said. More than four million Britons enter America annually using the visa waiver programme. Any change would force Britons wishing to visit the US into lengthy queues at American diplomatic missions....
Investor's Business Daily has already demanded an end to the programme because it "allows Pakistani Britons to dodge security background checks".
Much of the outraged American response this month was sparked by the call from Muslim leaders for a change in British foreign policy. The letter from six Muslim MPs and 38 community leaders said "current British Government policy risks putting civilians at increased risk both in the UK and abroad".
The theme was taken up by the Wall Street Journal, which said: "It is typical of some of Britain's so-called moderate Muslims, who seem less concerned with fighting extremists in their midst than in excusing them."
The newspaper went on to attack Tony Blair's government for "cultivating and promoting such pseudo-moderate Muslim organisations". The BBC and the Foreign Office, described as "a preserve of Arabists", were also lambasted both for quoting extremists and allowing them into Britain.
But as I have noted before, Blair doesn't have a large genuinely moderate Muslim organization with which he could work.

What if the Heathrow Bombers Succeeded?
Heres a nasty scenario imagined by Niall Ferguson: What if the Heathrow Bombers Succeeded?
We cannot assume, for obvious legal reasons, that the suspects who were charged in London are anything other than innocent, as they themselves maintain. Nor should we speculate about those who havent yet been released or charged. So let us merely hypothesize that some young British Muslims really were plotting to assemble bombs out of liquid-based explosives and iPod-shaped detonators and to detonate them aboard multiple transatlantic planes. Suppose it had happened yesterday. Imagine yourself, in a parallel universe, turning on the radio and hearing the following bulletin:
Five passenger aircraft have blown up in midair and crashed into the Atlantic. The planes believed to be operated by American Airlines and United Airlines left this morning from Heathrow Airport, bound for the United States. There are no reported survivors.
Such a calamity would at once have been dubbed 8/27. But the political consequences would have been very different from those that followed 9/11.
Five years ago, the world reacted with astounding unanimity. Nous sommes tous Américains, wrote Jean-Marie Colombani in Le Monde. Londoners felt an intense empathy with New Yorkers.
At the same time, 9/11 generated a surge of patriotic feeling in the targeted country. Americans rallied around a president who had been in office less than a year, having come to power by the most contentious of margins.
An 8/27 would have been diametrically different. From an American vantage point, a successful terrorist plot launched from Heathrow would have been doubly Britains fault. Its proximate cause would have been a lapse in British security. Its root cause would have been the infiltration of British society by radical Islamism.
Very on-target comments. And eventually, one of these plots will succeed.

***update 2: Australian Foreign Minister challenges press over coverage of the Qana ambulance incident...Red Cross bristles:
THE International Committee of the Red Cross has rebuked Foreign Minister Alexander Downer for relying on an unverified internet blog to claim an Israeli missile strike on one of its ambulances in southern Lebanon was a hoax. A spokeswoman for the ICRC in Geneva said yesterday there was no evidence to support Mr Downer's assertion that the international media had been duped in reporting that Israel had deliberately targeted the ambulance.
An image of the roof of the ambulance showed what was purportedly an entry hole allegedly made by an Israeli rocket which had pierced the centre of the red cross symbol.
The July 23 incident, in which two ambulances were fired on, injuring six people - including one man who lost his leg in the attack - provoked worldwide condemnation of Israel's apparent direct targeting of an ambulance in breach of the Geneva convention.
Israel apologised for the incident but made no admissions.
The blog site, Zombietime.com, claimed photographs of the interior of the ambulance showed there was not enough damage to have been hit by a missile through the roof, as claimed.
On Monday, in a speech to the National Newspaper Publishers Conference on the Gold Coast, Mr Downer criticised the Australian and international media for sloppy reporting and failing to check facts in their coverage of the Lebanon conflict.
He accused the media of being hoodwinked by Lebanese claims that "Israel had bombed deliberately a (Lebanese) Red Cross ambulance". And he accused "some of the world's most prestigious media outlets", including Time magazine, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and The Australian of falling for a hoax.
"After closer study of the images of the damage to the ambulance, it is beyond serious dispute that this episode has all the makings of a hoax," he said.
With the exception of Brit Hume, there has been a near blackout from the mainstream media on Zombie's investigation of the Red Cross Ambulance Incident in Cana. Last week, I wrote the Associated Press, ITV, the New York Times, MSNBC, The Age, Time magazine, Cox News, the Guardian, and the Boston Globe asking for a response to doubts raised over the incident. So far, I have received non-response auto-replies from ITV and the NY Times.
Today's in-depth Vent provides the proper context for this important story and the MSM's non-response to it. Islamic terrorists in the Middle East have a long, unchecked history of using ambulances as aids and props for jihad. Watch it here:

I'm asking every single reader of this blog to send this YouTube URL to the following three media outlets who reported the ambulance story uncritically and seek a response:

Send them this excellent column on Terrorist Theater Tricks by Caroline Glick at the Jerusalem Post while you're at it. A snippet: "As each day passes, the governments, formal and informal legal apparatuses, and media of free societies show themselves to be less and less capable of contending with the information operations conducted against their societies by subversive forces seeking their destruction. As each day passes it becomes clear that the responsibility of protecting our nations and societies from internal disintegration has passed to the hands of individuals, often working alone, who refuse to accept the degradation of their societies and so fight with the innovative tools of liberty to protect our way of life."
Don't give up.

I have not blogged a single word about John Michael Karr and the MSM's JonBenet Ramsey mania. This Breitbart/AP photo posted by Kathryn Lopez says everything there needs to be said about media insipidity and twisted journalistic priorities:
