Vienna Facing an apparent rise in anti-Semitic attacks, European leaders and public institutions are locked in a debate about the significance of the violence, its causes and how to deal with increasingly alienated Muslim immigrants who are behind many of the incidents.
In France, after the Nov. 15 firebombing of a Jewish school in a heavily Muslim Paris suburb, President Jacques Chirac declared that any attack on a Jew in France was an attack on France itself and established a special commission to fight anti-Semitism.
But a few weeks later, Yves Bertrand, the head of France's domestic intelligence agency, said the evidence did not support claims of a sharp rise in anti-Semitic attacks in France.

"We can't come out and say Muslims in Western Europe are creating the problem. That's stereotyping," said Ioannis Demitrakopoulos, a program administrator at the Monitoring Center.

Tibi, who has written extensively on the subject, argues that Muslims are at least equally responsible for the failure to integrate.
Religious leaders in particular, he said, play a "double game."
"When they speak to the public in Germany or France, they speak the language of integration. When they speak within the community, they warn against integration," he said. "They warn it will lead Muslims away from Islam."
This is SOP for TROP, they do it here in the U.S. too.
Exactly the problem. Failure to properly identify and eliminate the problem. They might as well bend over and wait for the spanking with that attitude. The Muslims aren't alienated so much as they came to alienate. The French have bent over backwards to help them 'assimilate' for 30 years, at least. It's clear that is not their goal. Even during the hijackings and terrorism of 70's France, the French just wanted to capitulate. And now, the leaders at least, with their short memories, are capitulating again, this time for the new EU (you know, spread the joy). Much to the endangerment of the non-Muslim EU general population, who are admonished if they speak out, like Brigit Bardotte.

And most people here and over there are so afraid of it. They dance around it, afraid of offending the minority, advising all to 'embrace' the new multiculturalism.
Best thing for a wild donkey is a muzzle and a stick. Many of our fellow Christians are beyond useless in that they'll let these demon possessed maniacs have their way with the world, thinking it the Christian thing to do.
Allowing the product of hell to the gates of heaven is foolish and sinful. Allowing the Islamic "New Nazism" to flourish is not what God wants for his people.
To me the choice is clear.... join the human race or be be removed from it.
I agree, of course. But, the militant minded ones (who scorn those who have assimiliated, a smaller number) know that already. They want to 'help' us and lead us away from our culture to the 'truth' of Islam and it's peace. They decry our multiculturalism and non-Islam religions. They think it's their mission to convert or conquer us. Even if it's through our own systems, i.e. elected positions, legal positions, etc. And there doesn't appear to be much mercy for those who can't or won't be converted. Just ask the people of Sudan or East Timor or the Phillipines or Afghanistan - oh, I could go on.
We have a very significant illegal immigration problem in this country, but we are VERY LUCKY that most of them are Hispanic, not Muslim.
Frankly, I think we should put a stop to any further Muslim immigration into the country now, at least until the world situation is stabilized. But I won't hold my breath, because even after 9/11 the political odds are against it.
BTW: If by "heritage" you mean junk food, Wal-Mart, bad music and reality shows, your Spanish-speaking neighbors and their English speaking children are assimilating quite fine thank you. If you mean that they respect our CONSTITUTIONAL heritage, I'm afraid that this is not the case with ANYONE in this country, particularly here in New York. Sad, but true.
