They did a lot of talking about the presidential races, senate races, touched on the house races and mentioned a couple of governors.

All comments welcome. I thought it was well done.

They seemed to have a concensus of opinion that the Republicans would not get close to getting a 60 majority, but would get maybe 54 or 55.

This could allow the Dems to continue their obstructionism, unless the Senate Republicans find and elect some leaders with steel, not cotton, 'thingies'.

Hands down, best political discourse anywhere. We usually tape it out here on the Left Coast, to be watched early evening.

The best analysis about the Senate is that nobody knows. Anyone who says anything with any degree of confidence about the senate seats in reasonable play, other than that a Pubbie will capture the Georgia seat, is smoking something. Granted, that doesn't make for good television.

Having said all that, I predict at present as a wild shot a Pubbie pick up of 2, but it could go as high as 6 under a reasonable scenario, or as low as no pick up at all. Except for the reasonable best case scenario, the Dems will be able to continue to successfully filibuster Bush's choke point judicial appointments. Look for the number of vacancies to continue to rise, including maybe one or two on SCOTUS. And so it goes.

There was a great deal of emphasis on certain "Battleground States."

Ohio stands out in my mind as being a swing state.

Minnesota and Oregon were named as potential GOP wins.

The South was ceded to Bush unless Breaux takes second fiddle to the Democratic nominee. Fat chance.

BTW, Carl Cameron is becoming one of my favorite, and most cheerful, politcal analysts.

I like Larry Sabato too, but the older he gets the more he comes to resemble Bob Keeshan. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I watched the entire thing and it was excellent. By far the best and most honest coverage I hae seen. I hate watching shows that have lying hacks like Katrina VanDen Hater who make predictions of glory filled liberal victories and none of them come true.

I am a little leery of Sabatos predictions as well. He's considered one the best, but I believe that post-911 he has really failed to realize changing times. He completely missed the 2002 election from what I remember.

If I remember right it was Fox that predicted the last presidential election as a dead heat..they had Bush barely making it by 1%. They were right and the rest is history.

What I got from the consensus is that House to stay Republican with an increase up to a total of 230-240, with 5 pickups very likely. Senate POSSIBLE 55 but staying in the Republican column. Two net likely. GW will remain President barring a double dip recession OR Iraq going very badly.

Janet Napalitano as VP. She has certainly F'edU Arizona by ignoring laws and doing what she damn well pleases.

When she was the AG, she once asked to make it a sex crime with life-time registration, for a man to inadvertantly see a minor girl au buff (Brittney wannabe) through a window.

She also proposed making it a sex crime to relieve ones self in public NO MATTER the circumstances. For example, Arizona DPS routinely blocks a freeway for an accident, sometimes for as long as 8+ hours. Traffic lines of 10 miles are common. I have prostate cancer and can tell you for certain that I am gonna pee along side the road sometime in a 10 (or 2) hour period.

This carpet crunching b*t*h is a menace to the state.

Yes, I watched it and am even more concerned about Oklahoma losing that Senate seat to Brad Carson, and a Democrat picking up Brad Carson's seat in the house. What a nightmare!

President Bush is going to have to come to this state and help our candidates, and Republicans are going to have to turn out the vote.

I thought it was an excellent show and I am looking forward to this political year.

What part of the show did this play? I only get to see the second half tonight and would love to watch it. Hopefully it was part of the panel at the end. My favorite part! Although I sometimes miss out on some of the debate cuz my husband starts screaming at Juan, Mara, or whatever wide-eyed broad takes their place. (Do all lib women have the bug eye problem...hillary, pelosi, mara, etc?)

Please let me know. Thanks,

TC
