why let it fly into LA, make it land someplace less populated.
To: Husker24
When the AF planes land, they are taken to the remote terminal at LAX, and all the passengers and luggage are searched again. Can you imagine seeing F16s and then going through that? haha.

Not supposed to cross into Oregon from my data. Maybe that's why the feds are interested in the plane's course.

Maybe they aren't intent on blowing something up this time, but rather on releasing something, i.e. chemical/biological attack.Or maybe the terrorists want to provoke us into blowing an Air France jet out of the sky... You know that Chirac & his commie foreign minister would not be up to explaining the necessity of our actions if this were necessary -- far easier to declare war and surrender.

Check with af_vet. He seems to disagree with you, about the path the flight is taking.

>>I'm sorry, but you're wrong. The planes don't land on vapors. They have plenty of fuel left. Thanks for the info. I have wondered about this for a few days now.
They have to have a reasonable amount of extra fuel, in case they need to be diverted to some other route in bad weather, or if they have to spend an hour circling in holding pattern due to unexpected traffic, or if they experience a problem (like landing gear failing to extend) that they need time to fix.

Thanks Karl, it's threads like this that make Free Republic so much better than any other news source . . . none of the networks bothered to tell us we are actually shadowing these flights . . . this is excellent "on the ground" citizen reporting . . .
