Michael Jackson gets weird on 60 Minutes..tonight 7pm CBS LIVE THREAD

Posted on 12/28/2003 3:32:33 PM PST by Hillary's Lovely Legs

By special request, here is your live thread for the Wacky Michael Jackson 60 Minutes interview.

Michael Jackson is talking.

CBS' "60 Minutes" will air an interview with the pop superstar tonight, marking Jackson's first public comments since his Nov. 20 arrest on suspicion of child molestation.

Ed Bradley interviewed Jackson for about 30 minutes on Christmas Day at a hotel in Los Angeles. Bradley had been pursuing an interview with Jackson even before the molestation charges. The CBS newsman traveled to Jackson's Neverland estate last February for an interview, but Jackson got cold feet and canceled it at the last minute.

Jackson, 45, is charged with seven counts of performing lewd or lascivious acts upon a child under 14 and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent. He remains free on $3 million bail.

EB: Do you know any other man your age, a 45-year-old man, who shares his bedroom with children?

MJ: Of course. Not for sex. No. That's wrong.

Sounds like MJ has knowledge of another possible felony child molestation and molester. I hope the DA follows up on this.

"I'll never be able to respect someone that admires a Yankee so much. Sigh."

Hey, HEY, HEY!!

I'll have you know the New York Yankees are a national metaphor for the United States of America!

If you weren't a lady (and YOU, unlike Sen. Pardek, ARE a lady I presume?), I'd slap you with my glove and challenge you to a duel! ;-)

Well, I am a lady, but I'll duel with anyone when it comes to the Yankees. I hate them, and they suck, and I love watching them being ground into the dirt! So there. :-)

my favorite player of all time is now a New York Yankee (Kenny Lofton)

That IS sad, isn't it? Lofton is a fine player. I used to love to watch him glide through the outfield.

Now I have to hate him.

If this whole bizarre scene was someone other than M.J. he would right now be in a mental institution rather than getting airtime on 60 minutes.

You 'think'!! He's had so many implants that the true shape of his face is gone forever!

No one has yet attempted to explain how this interview was supposed to help his case. It benefits CBS. It benefits Geragos.

Michael Jackson has ABSOLUTELY NO COMMON SENSE whatsoever, no ability to predict the probable outcomes of an action. He couldn't possibly have been this way during his early career...or he wouldn't have been so successful.

Is it not possible that he is truly innocent of molestation--because he is so deluded that he sees nothing wrong or dangerous in presenting such a gross appearance of evil? Especially when he has been in this same hot water before!

Most of us strive to avoid looking guilty when we're not. If MJ is innocent, a remote possibility, he has fried his self-preservation circuits completely.

Jackson was in custody from 3:24pm to 4:35pm.

Then that's 71 minutes of time in custody. The actual booking only took 26 minutes since Jacko was locked in the bathroom for 45 minutes. Damn, those cops are really efficient?

Gets weird? It has been decades since he hasn't been weird!
I don't think he's human; look at any recent picture. I think the real Michael has been abducted and replaced with an alien that can't quite pass as human.

Ok, not really, but come on; this guy is strange! What kind of parent would allow their child to sleep over with him (or any adult "male") even if there was an escort (which there was not). I wouldn't let my daughter anywhere near that flake!

Will anyone else admit that they used to like his music? His early stuff, at least? He wasn't always a sick freak. He used to be a positive, dynamic musician, innovative and brilliant, at least until the crotch-grabbing thing started...that was a bit of a clue that things were getting weird.

What exactly is that poll supposed to tell us? If there are no I'm-not-sure's in the poll that would indicate that 58% of blacks believe he's guilty. What's the apples-to-apples comparison there?
