THE PERSECUTION OF RUSH GOES ON MARK A SITY 12/26/03
Years ago, Brett Favre had a problem with pain killers. He was buying them illegally after a prescription ran out for after an injury that still hurt. He became addicted. After the news came out, he apologized to his fans, went into treatment, and all was right with the world. Not a soul seems to be interested in investigating Ozzy Osbournes drug use, but there might be a reason for this. Ozzy seems to be attempting to prove the theory of evolution by devolving into lower forms of life before our eyes. Ozzie is an interesting scientific experiment.
Yet, Rush Limbaugh is reported to have a problem with an addiction to pain killers, admits it and goes into treatment, and all is still not right with the world. Rumors are reported first that hes part of a drug ring investigation. Ok, it seems this is true in that his name turned up as a customer. Then rumors were reported that he was buying these prescription pain killers in 1000+ lots. Then rumors were reported that he was involved in selling the drugs (like he really needs the money!). Then it was money laundering. Now he is under investigation for the very serious crime of DOCTOR SHOPPING. It seems this is a huge crime in Florida.
This makes me wonder. If I take my family to Florida for a vacation, and our daughter hurts herself, lets say she hurts her leg. Being from Wisconsin we wouldnt know who the good FL doctors are and who the quacks are. Wed probably take her to the closest doctor. So lets say we get Dr Quack. Dr Quack takes her into the X-ray room, and comes out with an X ray showing a hairline fracture in her calf bone. We would assume a leg cast is in order. Dr Quack comes back with not the plaster cart, but a laughing gas cart and then pulls out a big meat saw. Dr Quack tells us he will have to amputate her leg for the hairline fracture. If we decide to take her out of the office (with both legs attached) and look for a second opinion are we in violation of FL law for DOCTOR SHOPPING?
I dont claim to have any inside information on Rushs situation, but drawing on what he has said, it seems that he had a painful back problem and went to Dr Quack. Dr Quack recommended surgery. Dr Quack messed up the surgery. Dr Quack prescribed a pain killer to Rush for temporary relief of a long term problem. Dr Quacks prescription ran out on Rush, leaving him in debilitating pain. Rush knew the pain killer could allow him mobility, and Dr Quack offered no option other than permanent debilitating pain for the rest of his natural life. It seems to me that Rush should have been doctor shopping a long time ago!
Why is Rush on trial here, without even any charges being filed? Shouldnt Dr Quack be the one being investigated for leading an innocent victim down the path of lawlessness and drug use? Where is the AMA? Could it be that they, along with the press have an anti-Rush agenda? Nah, couldnt be. If I believed that Id be one of the black helicopter conspiracy types then, wouldnt I?

"I read a lot here about moral relativism. To me, what's right is right, what's wrong is wrong. Rush didn't need thousands of pills, nor did he need to doctor shop. If he wasn't getting relief from the treatment from Dr. #1, then he should have gotten a second opinion, then a third or fourth, or as many as he needed to get relief."OPEN your eyes. Rushs DID get a second opinion,(the same thing thousands if not millions of people do every day) and now he's being charged with DOCTOR SHOPPING.
How bogus is that.
Whatever you call it, it is a pure witchhunt based on political paybacks.

What don't you agrre with? So you mean to tell mw that the liberals shoved those pills in his mouth? It was the liberals that threw him out on those golf courses while all the while he complained about how much his back. Or is it the part where Rush makes a dailt living from listeners while he espouses his moral authority to millions all the while obtaining narcotics illegally and doping? What am I missing here? Let me guess it is high and fine to bash a libo but when one is uncovered for what he is it is not ok to take the heat? Please! Please explain to me anything I have said that is untrue I am waiting for this one.

How do you know if I am being dishonest. Do you work where I work. Do you know that people are being sent home because of how slow it is today? Do you know this is a holiday weekend. Thank goodness you are not my boss. You proove that you would not be a boss for very long. There is something called HR. And I highly doubt with your turnover policy you would not be a manager very long.

"The prosecutors are the ones doing the "shopping". They have failed to prove any of the first 3 speculative accusations they lobbed out, so now they are going fishing for anything, and violating Rush's right to privacy in the process.Totally correct.
To all you Rush bashers out there, how would you like it if your neighbor called the police and said YOU were doing drugs, and without prior proof, the county District Attorney got a search warrant for all your doctor records, and then MADE THEM PUBLIC.
That, my friends, is exactly what is happening to Rush.

ummmm no
Show me anywhere the prosecution lobbed this out. Show me one place that points to this. It was the media who brought out the 1st 3 accusations. When you deal with dope dealers what can you expect? Rmember you are the crowd that you keep.

"No, they had what's known as "probable cause".And what do you consider probable cause?
A statement by some convicted maid to get herself out of trouble.
Or maybe a phone call to an anonymous tip line at the local police department?
C'mon. Get real. This is the most overblown prosecution in the history of Florida! Doctor shopping is equal to second opinion is equal to doctor shopping is equal to second opinion.

"got a search warrant for all your doctor records, and then MADE THEM PUBLIC."
You are uninformed. The DA has the records sealed and NOTHING of his medical record has been made public. In fact the DA was instructed that nothing in his records is to be made public.

Hogwash !
The neighbor did not call the police - an ongoing drug investigation turned up his name as a buyer.
The prior proof - (probable cause ) Were Pharmacy records which are all open to police inspection( obtained as part of the drug investigation).
A judge approved the issuance of the search warrent.
... and his medical records have NOT been made public.

"you are becoming quite a bore. This is getting quite old."And you seem to have run out of argument.
You don't like it when it's shoved in your face, do you?

"One involves breaking a law. The other involves breaking a law.Since it seems you are so obsessed with "breaking a law" as some criteria of whether or not to prosecute, I suggest that you, and every other like minded person, examine your soul on whether or not you have ever driven a vehicle after drinking alcohol, or if you have ever broken the speed limit, or littered, or fudged on your taxes, or whatever.
And if so, you should immediately march down to the local police station and/or IRS office and turn your self in with a written confession, and prepare to face punishment.
This "he broke the law" crap is ridiculous. Everybody breaks laws at some time in their life.

It's the same arguments over and over... like the Senate Democrats, people simply refuse to read and understand the available FACTS.

How does one launder their own money? By making transactions over (and under) some X amount of dollars.
Rush certainly wasn't selling drugs.
He doesn't have to. Purchase, possession, or effective control of 4 grams or more of OxyContin is felony trafficking, by definition.
Welcome to the War on (some) Drugs.

"AbsoluteJustice" has been nursing his losing arguments on this thread for the last 8 1/2 hours. He may have put on a pair of Depends a few hours ago so he wouldn't have to leave his post to pee.
He must have a lot at stake here, but he's refusing to learn anything.
Man, what a waste of a day.
Kind of gives you an idea of his life, doesn't it?

"Tell me if this were Nancy Pelosi what would you say then? Would you be defending her tooth and nail as you are Rush? Fair is fair. Double standards here run amok!Wow, is Nancy Pelosi having her medical records invaded and released to the public through the media too????
C'mon, you call us Rush supporters hypocrites.
Name me one other private individual who has had his or her medical records confiscated (due to a convicted maid's word, no less) and then made public, all before that person has even been charged with anything.
I will be waiting by my computer for your answer.
