Yep - typical.

Whatever happens over the Holidays, terrorism or not, they won't admit to it, unless it's 9/11 grandiose.

I'm going to have to look for it. Was reading that on one of the few threads I've read tonight. I think it was on the AQ pilots thread.

Also you mentioned in one of your posts something about the UK being attacked and not us.

Interesting, as on I think it was the long long thread that's been running since November, someone posted that one of the jihadi boards, maybe the one on yahoo, has remarks from the apparent jihadi poster named Daleel that first London will be attacked, followed very shortly by the US.

"You really think GWB is going to kill innocent Arabs because of what terrorist groups do? Don't bet on it."

The Sept. 11, 2001 incidents kiled more innocents than Pearl Harbor. For that we waged war until Japan was defeated...finishing up with nukes to two cities.

Surely we WOULD kill innocent Arabs. There is NO doubt in my mind we could be pushed to do so.

I doubt a few relative pinpricks would draw such a response, but we can and will respond.

The terrorists operate beyond nationhood. But they operate as muslims. Pushed to the brink, we will respond, massively.

Power and might are one thing they can understand. They seem to be trying to incite a world war.

At some point, they will get one.

The logical strategy would be to split the alliance by attacking England (UK), in order to move the Brits more toward the prevailing European position. I think that such a move instead would "steel the British resolve," but what do I know.

I remember keeping the watch during Ramadan, ready for anything, and Atty. Gen. Ashcroft did not authorize raising the color alert level to orange. Now, out of the blue, and during the big travel season, he's been convinced to raise it.

One possible explanation for this turn is that Sec. Ridge has convinced A.G. Ashcroft that the added level of alertness serves to implement resources which can thwart a terrorist attack. That the heightened alert is really an important and most prudent step in safety and prevention.

Another possible explanation for the increased color-level alert is that an actual terrorist operation of horrifying proportions has been verified beyond doubt, and that this operation is taking place in an unknown location or locations.

So I guess that folks have to get back to being ready for everything at all times, at least for awhile, and used to getting so prepared anytime, on the shortest notice.

I disagree...Stategic Nuclear strikes can be sustained by the planet, even a dozen on the otherside of the world would have limited fallout here, and remember that fallout levels drop dramatically after 2 weeks.

The USA will not use nuclear weapons against other nations, even in response to a significant WMD attack stateside.

Any talk like that isn't productive. It won't happen.

I agree with you on balance, though.

A very interesting post (and thread). Thanks.

I think Code Orange basically tells local law enforcement agencies to haul in any Middle Eastern looking person that seems suspicious.

I say this because one of the 9/11 hijackers was pulled over in his rental car by a (Maryland?) State Trooper on the night of 9/10, given a speeding ticket, and sent on his way.

>>Even the terrorists know who their friends are -- that's why they won't touch Hollywood.

Don't bet on that...Where do you think most of the Islamic crazy anger is aimed? At the great satan that spews immorality (in their eyes), the Hollyweird movie industry.

Hollyweirdo's are on their list...The only reason they aim at New York and DC first is power and size, plain & simple.

Did they ever find that airliner that went missing in Africa?

It would make more sense (from their perspective) to attack us in Baghdad, where they suppose Saddam is. The US got a lot of sympathy over 9/11, wouldn't get the same if our military were attacked.
Also the Vatican is jittery, and an easier target.
If they had dirty nukes, they'd be using them in Israel. They have to know that hitting America is bad for business, look what we have done since 9/11, taken out the Taliban, taken out Saddam, defanged Libya and dried up a lot of money sources for the terrorists.
If there's a major attack coming, I don't think it's going to be here. Maybe Italy, Israel or Iraq.

Major cities and remote areas ? What a prediction. If it happens they will be correct about the location for sure. Watch out Jean Dixon.

The nukes we have are quite dirty- exploding several of them at the same time would overwhelm the planet with radiation- even if no one strikes back at us.

What utter nonsense.

Bookmarking this thread for further review sometime during the next two months which we are hearing the current threat level may remain.Beyond the fact that it is not clear how that can be determined now,if,sometime after the new year some new and improved version of the Patriot Act is proposed,I will become somewhat suspicious.
