Subsequently then, you also support the notion that the more money you make, the more you should pay in taxes?

Well they sort of do that already, they manipulate the economy so that as many people as possible have jobs.

I am referring to the ideal that everyone has a job and unemployment is almost non-existant, as the gov. gives you a job, no matter how crappy it is.

But he is now in a class of citiznes who, because of the sum of money they have acquired, have more rights than you do.

Only now it's codified into law. Happy Day!

Depends on the meaning of is. I support a flat tax which necessarily means that some pay more than others.

You don't strike me as a lady who would vote for someone based upon what they say; Would you?

When Dean fully exposes himself, you will see him for what he truely is and time will open your eyes.

Now, this DUDE scares me!

What, exactly, do you " like " about Howard Dean? Be specific and then, THEN, decide if you really are a Conservative at all.

Looks like we have Dean's Internet machine infiltrating our forums.

You would be wrong. Born In A Rage has been here a LONG time and is a well respected Freeper.

Define codified for us if you will. Is this some new disingenuous term of yours?

I don't know, I think when one is dealing with numbers, the skin color of the people doesn't matter. I'm middle- class (white, too). I think the middle-class in this country are often the ones getting treated the worst. So, I get your point in one way, but on the other hand, it would be nice for the politicians to consider us once in a while instaed of always being focused on the poor and the rich.

I support a flat tax which necessarily means that some pay more than others.

The Europeans adopted a "flat" tax and then added an income tax on top of it. In Texas we have no income tax but we have very high property taxes. Now we have strong proposals for higher property taxes plus an income tax. This "flat" tax movement scares the bejeezus out of me because there is NO guarantee that the income tax will die with its implementation.

You see, John is more of a right winger than I am. I support progrssive taxation, and make no bones about it.

By the way, the pension laws are scandalously in favor of the rich, and Bush made it worse. I know, because I run my firm's pension plan. And I really enjoy the extra 2K, going up to 5K, that I get to put in because I am over 50, on top of the embarrasingly large amount that I can otherwise put in (along with my partners, but they are under 50, so I get to put in even more than those robber barons relatively speaking though), while giving pennies to the hourly folks. My avarice only goes so far though. Every penny that goes into the plan for the hourlies, is fully vested. Divesting because an hourly quits, because he or she is tired of working for a high strung asshole like myself, is a bridge too far. And there you have it.

Well, now I've got ask you a question or two. Assuming you don't like Bush, what alternative do we have? Do you have another candidate in mind who can put up a viable primary challenge? Or, if you are saying you can put up a winning third party candidate, how are you planning on swaying the 50 million or so voters to your party so you can acually beat the Democrats? And, I'm assuming that these 50 million voters have to come from somewhere, and you can't clone them or make them up out of thin air, and they probably won't be coming from the liberal Democrat ranks, so most likely, most of them would have to be the very same Republican voters you are referring to in your free beer offer above. I mean if 40 or 50 million Republicans suddenly change their registration to Libertarian (or whatever) are they suddenly different people with different personalities, wants, needs, ideology, etc? I don't get it. If your third party of choice is made up of the very same people we already have, how are they going to be any different? I mean, what (besides party affiliation) would change? And if they did magically all change their registration from "R" to "L" how would that improve their chances of being more successful against the liberals?

Hey Tex, how you been. The flat tax I support is tha bases of all. It is a flat tax on income with no deductions and the law codified to forbid a national sales tax piggybacked on top of it. That will pare down the IRS greatly so we get more bang for the buck.

You missed my point or I didn't make it clear. IF Dean cut any social services he did it without fear of large numbers of voters getting mad about it. Having said that, the "middle-class" constitutes the largest single group of people benefiting from one or more government programs in the country. The simple fact is that most “middle-class” families pay very little in federal income taxes especially with children.
