I am with you. I have a real problem with someone that supports the enemy. Especially those that want to teach us a lesson -- we had 8 years of a hard lesson -- don't want anymore.

Well, what do you propose?I hope this isn't your way of implying that resistance is futile. Only sycophants and other slaves think that way.
But since you ask -- the first step is to admit that we have our problems: that the GOP has failed us and that our battered wife response to a party that we continue to love even though it abuses and humiliates us is futile and destructive.
Now -- since the status quo is obviously not moving the ball for conservatives -- what do you propose?

You know, those who want "to teach a lesson" really, underneath it all, and in spie of bleating to the contrary, are every bit the socialisr utopian guillotine lovers that the Rats are .

Walsh's LawUnfortunately, you in all probability are right. Every lawyer, of every political ilk, and in many different political situations, has told me in no uncertain terms, that this Bill would not pass muster.
The courts all over this country are infiltrated with brainwashed leftists. We have to reverse this, it is imperative.

That means the 9th Circuit Rulings would stand. UGH!
I think you are right that CFR will collaspe under its own weight as they continue to add more and more restrictions.

well. as the election draws near, we can expect more of this... The one thing you will never see is a republican going on a DU forum or any liberal forum, pretending to be a lib and saying he is going to vote for Bush. If he does that he is either banned or voted out of there with foul language... Anyways, I am not worried about Dean. Someone has to give voice to the rabid minority left wing..:)

OK .. I just watched it again and I hope I got it all right
It was Bradley Smith from the ACLU .. I don't know who he is .. but the ACLU puts me on guard
Anyhow, he said the restriction ads are
If an ad is ran, mentioning a candidates name - it cannot be funded by a corporation.
Groups like the Sierra Club or Right to Life that are incorporated have to follow the 30 day primary/60 days election rules
If a bunch of say neighbors wanted to run an ad to bring something to peoples attention - they can do so, as long as they are not incorporated
The DNC, RNC or any Official party can only run these ads if they use money that is Federal Money - Fed Money is individual contributes to the party (up to $2,000 limit)
George Soros cannot give his money to the DNC but he can give it to a group that falls under the 527 Tax Code and they are not incorporated. But if Soros, himself wanted to run ads, he can

Personally, I am FOR the Patriot Act. I'm tired of hearing about how all our civil liberties have disappeared. That's a crock. Second, Bush has often talked about the massive amount of paperwork that schools have to deal with and that it is wrong. He is not to blame for that. That was in place long before he came to office. He is trying to remove the massive amounts of paperwork that small businesses have to deal with, too. I just think some of your assumptions are wrong and I have the feeling that you are not a supporter of this president to begin with. I don't agree with some of the other things you said, either, but it is getting late and we can discuss it another day.

Medicare Reform.. Bush promised that in his campaign.. Its not the best but it is a start. We have to start somewhere... At least now, the Dims are left without their.. "The evil repbs are going to kill seniors" mantra which worked so well in the last elections especially here in Florida and scared the seniors to go vote for Gore...

Sometimes I think some of them are actually RATs. Only thing that makes sense. I know one thing -- they are not like any Republicans that I have ever known. Voting for a DemocRAT is not an option!

So which part of my rather lengthy reply to you is 'horse hockey'?
You're more than free to cast your vote for Bush if you wish. That's your right.
However, I intend at this point to leave the top of my ballot unvoted. If there's a real conservative down the ticket then he or she will get my vote.
But vote for Bush again? I don't think so old friend.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.....
Ain't gonna happen.
By the way, exactly how many 'conservative' Judges is it that GW managed to get approved? Hell, as incompetent as his old man was, he managed to get Clarence Thomas affirmed. It's the one shining spot in an otherwise lackluster Administration.
And further, just how many SC Justices do you think he'll actually appoint who'll make it through the process.
I'll wager you a hundred bucks the number is zero.
I've no wish to argue with you in your own house Jim. I'm just telling you how I see things. I think I've been around here long enough to have earned the privilege of being honest with you.
I've never been very good at keeping my mouth shut. You know that by know.
Bush hoodwinked us. You can say what you want but you can't deny that. 'Compassionate conservative' my backside. He's compassionate alright, comassionate enough to spend my kids and grandkids into frigging bankruptcy.
Let me share a really uncomfortable fact with you Jim.
Right now fully 70% of Federal Government spending is basically unchangeable. GWBs signing of the laughably misnamed 'Medicare Reform' is going to raise that figure to over 80% in less than 10 years at least. There's a darn good possibility that percentage will be even higher.
So, I'm going to write slowly and distinctly: There won't be any money left for anything else unless taxes are radically increased. Defense? Fuggetaboudit....
Social Security is already bankrupt.
Medicare will be bankrupt in less than 15 years.
Medicaid hasn't been solvent since the day it was enacted.
In the meantime, the Republicans are spending money they don't have on highways named for former Klansmen, schools that don't work, farmers who don't farm, and borders that are such a rude joke a dozen sworn enemies of this Nation managed to murder 3,000 innocent people using commercial airliners as missiles.
Like I said, fool me once.

"It means that the medicare bill increased the size of the government."So, let me ask you.
I know people, REAL people, old people who worked all their lives and tried saving a little money for retirement, who can't afford to both eat, and buy the prescriptions they need to maintain themselves healthy, so they make deadly choices daily.
What's your "conservative" solution to this problem?

Senator Nelson of NE very seldom votes with the Dems. Rumors have been flying for months that he will cross the aisle before he is up for reelection. He votes with Republicans more than some Republicans!

...GOP has failed us... How do you know that the GOP isn't just trying to strike a balance between what its rightwing base wants and what the general electorate wants?
Remember, a plurality of the electorate vote for the dead-tree -- do you remember that?!
To: Born in a Rage
Thanks for the heads up though You are welcome and yes, there is more to Dean then what many in the media are reporting
Don't get me wrong, I understand why many are upset about this ruling .. it sucked big time .. all I ask is that you see the whole picture

Yeah, I'm much more concerned with the direction of the GOP than with Howard Dean. .....And I also think it's a bit premature to call him the sure-fire Dim nominee this early in the game. He has foot-in-mouth disease like no one I've ever seen, and he'll have plenty more opportunities to exercise this talent of his.

2 things.. The medicare bill and then signing the campaign finance bill which has already proven to be a joke.. look at Soros and them trying to run circles around it... Of course, if Soros was a republican and said he would do whatever it takes to put Bush in office, we would have huge outcries by the media and the Dims demanding congressional hearings and the rest.. IF I am not mistaken, Soros is not even an american and he has been speculating against the dollar in the european markets trying to make a bunch of money. And this is the guy that is trying to give money to defeat Bush. I guess the only good thing is that he is creating some jobs in the US that Bush can take credit for...
