So which part of my rather lengthy reply to you is 'horse hockey'?

You're more than free to cast your vote for Bush if you wish. That's your right.

However, I intend at this point to leave the top of my ballot unvoted. If there's a real conservative down the ticket then he or she will get my vote.

But vote for Bush again? I don't think so old friend.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.....

Ain't gonna happen.

By the way, exactly how many 'conservative' Judges is it that GW managed to get approved? Hell, as incompetent as his old man was, he managed to get Clarence Thomas affirmed. It's the one shining spot in an otherwise lackluster Administration.

And further, just how many SC Justices do you think he'll actually appoint who'll make it through the process.

I'll wager you a hundred bucks the number is zero.

I've no wish to argue with you in your own house Jim. I'm just telling you how I see things. I think I've been around here long enough to have earned the privilege of being honest with you.

I've never been very good at keeping my mouth shut. You know that by know.

Bush hoodwinked us. You can say what you want but you can't deny that. 'Compassionate conservative' my backside. He's compassionate alright, comassionate enough to spend my kids and grandkids into frigging bankruptcy.

Let me share a really uncomfortable fact with you Jim.

Right now fully 70% of Federal Government spending is basically unchangeable. GWBs signing of the laughably misnamed 'Medicare Reform' is going to raise that figure to over 80% in less than 10 years at least. There's a darn good possibility that percentage will be even higher.

So, I'm going to write slowly and distinctly: There won't be any money left for anything else unless taxes are radically increased. Defense? Fuggetaboudit....

Social Security is already bankrupt.

Medicare will be bankrupt in less than 15 years.

Medicaid hasn't been solvent since the day it was enacted.

In the meantime, the Republicans are spending money they don't have on highways named for former Klansmen, schools that don't work, farmers who don't farm, and borders that are such a rude joke a dozen sworn enemies of this Nation managed to murder 3,000 innocent people using commercial airliners as missiles.

Like I said, fool me once.

L

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice."

So, tell me exactly what Bush said prior to election day that "fooled" you?

Maybe, you fooled yourself.

There won't be any money left for anything else unless taxes are radically increased.

Federal Government spending has been about 18% or 22% of GDP for years -- maybe the last 60 years or so.

The federal government has as much money now to waste as it did half a century ago.

The whole idea of throwing in the towel and surrendering to the Democrats is horse hockey.

And yes it's been tough for Bush to get his picks through, but we gotta keep trying. I guarantee you that not voting or voting third party is not going to make it any easier to get those appointments confirmed.
