Call the WHite HOuse to Thank Bush for CFR!!!
Posted on 12/10/2003 1:09:18 PM PST by Maceman
For what good it will do, I just called the White House switchboard (202-456-1111) and conveyed my extreme outrage at Bush for not vetoing CFR when he had the chance.
I hope you all will do the same.
BTW, the operator told me "you are not alone."
Let's shut down the WH switchboard with howls of protest.
If I wasn't still even more terrified of the Democrats than I am of the Republicans (albeit barely at this point), I would never support Bush in '04 after this.

Blame McClain Interesting point, but I not not believe the framers of the Constitution gave Bruce Willis' character in Die Hard the Constitutional Power to Veto Legislation.

Now, because of the RATS, I agree not much difference. In the future, if you "Bush must follow MY agenda 100% of the time" followers get your way, then maybe it will make a difference very soon. Like in November of 2004 when Dean is your Commie Prez.

Although not well-reported, his administration has made some significant improvements regarding immigrationWhy did Tom Ridge advocate amnesty for illegal aliens today?

The United States really has no purpose any more. Often I get to thinking that way. But then that good ol' Lord of the Rings theme niggles into my mind.
Politics was never the answer. But it seems the best thing to do in this kind of pickle is to cast my vote for whom my conscience allows, and try to trust the Lord for the rest.

Everything is Bush's fault.
Same old diversionary rhetoric.
No, everything is NOT Bush's fault.
But THIS is.
And there are plenty others responsible too, but all Bush had to do was excercise his constitutional authority to veto it and he failed to, gambling on the Supreme Joke who needed not to get involved.

It's too late. There's really no reason to try to sway me. Bush has lost my vote permanently and irrevokably.

Well at least Bruce Willis thinks the President has done the right thing -- different than many here that are wailing and crying. And McClain is a better American than the RINO McCain anyway.

Eff politics. There's no point.
Now, people with money often can do a lot of things with impunity. I think the key to freedom is having stacks of cash.
I intend to make a ton and then try out a new country.

Originally the CFR did not include the unions and their untold millions going to the Dems.
This bill has been reworked do that unions cannot do this any more.
That is a good thing, no?
To: Lazamataz
Well, if I'm in charge of an indy issue advocacy org(I have issue advocacy experience), I'll break that 30 or 60 day law, and not even give a damn. I won't be going to jail either for it.
If SCOTUS does the same to the 2nd, screw em.
I do what I have to do.

The premise of your question does not negate the truth of my statement. It is entirely possible for an administration to do both positive and negative things in a broad issue area like immigration. That said, I am against amnesty for illegal aliens. However, I have not hear or read about Ridge's comments, so must withhold judgment until I do.

Name the conservative justices serving on our Supreme Court who were appointed by a democrat president? Are you going to stand there with your teeth in your mouth and your face hanging out and try to tell me Bush will be nominating conservative SCOTUS judges???

I did not get to vote for the people on the Supreme Court but I did vote for Bush with the expectation that he would uphold the Constitution. He has not and our options are to hold him accountable or watch the Republican Party Morph into the Democratic Party.

My best to you, Laz.
I plan to stick around here for the next civil war. No other country would be worth it.
