Freepers sister in life or death situation-Florida-help please!! PRAYER REQUEST

They moved my sister to the ICU unit at Ocala Regional Medical Center yesterday and she is scheduled for surgery today to drain the excessive adominal fluid. The surgery was originally scheduled for yesterday, but she's now developed a URI too.

She is very, very sick and so weak. Any prayers that can mustered up for her would be more than appreciated. Her name is Marilyn and she's 51 years old.

She has a rare spinal cord abscess. Usually, surgery is performed to lance the abscess. But she's not a canidate for surgery because, as a health care professional, she contracted Hepatitis C years ago which has caused extensive liver damage.

Father in heaven, we come before you on behalf of Marilyn, an angel of mercy, O Lord. Now she needs mercy Father, and complete healing. She has cared so for others in their pain, fear, and dispair, now she counts on Your comfort Father.

Father, we take great comfort and joy in knowing that we are not orphans, Marilyn is not an orphan, she is a child of the King. Father, she is young and much needed and loved by her family. We ask Father that you heal her physical body, that she may remain here with us for a time longer. Jesus understands the pain of parting for us that still remain in the physical. So we ask for your mercy and understanding towards us Lord, that you forgive our sins, relieve our fear, and bless us with her continued presence Father.

Thanks for the ping, TC. I've read through this entire thread in amazement. Sometimes we have to fight so hard to get adequate treatment for our loved ones.

Prayers going up for Marilyn and her support system, Alice and Claudia and all who pray here. I am believing that our tenacity will be rewarded and the many prayers we continually send will be answered.

May God send a host of Heavenly angels to surround the hospital in Gainesville to keep all evil spirits at bay. May He guide Marilyn's new physicians to make the right decisions and stalwartly do what is necessary to save her life. If a transplant is required, may a usable liver be made available at exactly the right time and in healthy condition.

Dear Lord, Marilyn's life has been about helping others. We now humbly beg you to spare her life, to make her whole and healthy again. In Jesus' name I pray.

Merciful Mighty Ancient of Days, our Blessed Father God,

We are on bended knee, first, in gratitude for your intercession thus far in Marilyn's situation. We are grateful for the prompt actions of her sister and good friend. Next, we continue pulling on the hem of your robe and laying petitions before your throne that you might heal that abscess and allow her to be granted a new liver, if that is your Will for her. Surround each cell of that malfunctioning liver with your Light and let it continue to sustain her against all reason until it is either healed or replaced, according to your decree.

You are our own beloved Father, and you are mindful of the needs of each one of us. You love us and show us that in countless ways each day. Father, we are praying for our sister Marilyn and are hoping that your Plan for her would allow her to stay with us. She is one of the good ones who has dedicated her life to service. Please, Father, if she has not completed her assignments, let her stay. If she has completed them, but because of the great need in this world for those who are dedicated to selfless service, grant her an extension of time with us. If it is your decision to call her Home, let there be beauty, healing, and flowers of your Light for those who remain behind.

We ask that this and all our prayers be adjusted according to thy Good and Perfect Will. If it also be thy Will, let our prayers be extended to any and all for whom they could apply.

My nightly prayer for Marilyn continues. I ask the Lord to help Marilyn to bring all her inner strength to the fore to fight these attacks on her body, and that these new Doctors be guided by His healing hand.

Hi Mary Ann,

An update: They have Marilyn in their 36-bed Intermediate Care Unit. There must have been twice that number of staff running around.

They did a MRI on her back ... results were inconclusive. They don't know if it's a blood mass there or what ... at this point in time. Herpes was mentioned at some point (I think about the back, but I don't remember --- there's so much going on and I'm so tired.)

The liver specialist was there today and doesn't think her condition is entirely from the HepC ... that she's not jaundiced enough.

They did an EKG today ... but no results yet. Will keep you posted.
