I'm a very conservative evangelical Christian, but have a different "take" on homosexuality than this column.
My nephew was born with physical defects: club feet, had a colostomy, messed up spine, and so on. He's had dozens of major surgeries to address these defects.
Some babies are born with Down's Syndrome, another physical defect, that's also got mental components.
Similarly, I believe some people can be born with psychological defects that leave them with homosexual desires.
I *also* believe that children can become "homosexual" through "nurture," just as someone can get a physical defect through a car accident.
Finally, just as someone with a physical defect is right to seek medical attention, a person with this homosexual defect is right to seek to become healthy. If they don't, then they're doubly messed up.
Ted.

Ted,
The point, though, is that the body is made heterosexual. It responds like a heterosexual. It procreates like a heterosexual.
That says a whole lot about the psychological theory you've proposed. Homosexuality is nurture, not nature.

I can only agree with the second half of your thoughts. It has been proven time and again (actor Anthony Perkins comes to mind) that homosexual behavior can be overcome.

I believe some people can be born with psychological defects that leave them with homosexual desires. Why?

Similarly, I believe some people can be born with psychological defects that leave them with homosexual desires. No genetic source for this disease has ever been found. Likewise, after death, this disease is undetectable. That is, you can tell an alcoholic was an alcoholic after death. you can determine that someone had heart disease, cancer etc. But you cannot tell that a corpse had Same-sex Attraction Disorder (SAD)
SAD is a totally environmental disease

Some people have a genetic tendency to become alcoholic, some have a genetic tendency to gluttony, some have a tendency to steal, some have a genetic tendency to fornication. Yes, that inherent sin nature IS a real problem that must be overcome.
