What's the scene in the courtroom? What's the reaction from Muhammed? DETAILS, please!Per CNN and MSNBC, Muhammed was "stoic" and "showed no emotion" as the verdict was read.
We're waiting for multiple pressers from the participants.

My sis-in-law lived a 1/4 mile from the bus driver murder.
We were living at the time within a 1/2 hour of one of the shootings. The schools started looking for people to guard the doors at the schools. I was ready willing and able. My kids were in 3 different schools at the time.
We have sinced moved back to Buffalo..

However, a new Governor could have just as easily changed it back. Not without General Assembly approval. It was a change in law, not an Executive Order.

Muhammed was "stoic" and "showed no emotion" as the verdict was read Because he's part of a scary movement known as the "5 percent nation" (lots of members in prisons), I would have to wonder if there will be any fellow members rioting and burning their own neighborhoods tonight.
To: The Mayor
My relatives still live in VA and MD. They were afraid to go to the store, pump gas, do any of the normal things people do in everyday life when the snipers were on their rampage. It took them a while before normalcy returned.

Per FNC, when Muhammed was led away, he had a "faint smirk" as his only show of emotion.

Death to Mr. Muhammed? All-RIGHT! Now, we can spend millions of dollars and many months (if not years) fighting off his billions of appeals!
Personally, I don't know about everyone else, but I see this as a "Win-Win" situation. :)
Yeah.
To: mhking
A "faint smirk" huh? What a bastard--but that's why he'll be sitting on death row for the rest of his miserable life.

Wonder if Malvo is sporting a silly grin now?
One word comes to mind: Next!

I guess the jury listened to John Mohammed's admonition to understand the three different truths: The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!
They answered with the three different deaths: You're dead, you're really dead, and you're stone cold dead!
My guess is that Malvo receives life in prison.

My aunt is the victim-witness director for the Fairfax Co. PD; my brother-in-law and family are in Montgomery Co.; we had lots of friends in the Metro area from when we lived up there. We were on pins and needles throughout this entire mess.

Depends on how successful the Malvo defense team is in presenting their brainwashing defense. I read the transcript of a taped confession Malvo made and it's chilling, absolutely chilling. The jury may be squeamish on sentencing an 18-year-old to death, even though he confessed to being the shooter. (I wouldn't be.)

The media sounds VERY bummed that the killer is going to die.

"
If they can't give this guy a death sentence, then I'm not sure any jury can ever give anyone a death sentence."I dunno.
There's a guy out here in Washington who has been convicted of murdering over 40 women in cold blood. It's proving to be a valid conviction because he has shown law officers where he buried even more women whose murders were never reported.
Prognosis? He won't get the death penalty because he cooperated with the investigating officers.
It's enough to gag a maggot!

The 1st questioner does--the question was along the lines of why does VA convict & execute so fast.

Thanks for the ping MnM. I had begun to worry since it took the jury longer than a half a day.
