This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

This thread will stay up through next Sunday. I will be in Kentucky for Thanksgiving, but I will still be able to check in with y'all, just not as often.

Has Terri's family been seeing her? How is she doing after her ordeal? Are they still outside the hospice?

Yes, her family has been getting to see her, how much I don't really know. They are still outside the hospice as far as I know. Floriduh Voter and others there update us from time to time.

Thank you. That link did work for me. I was wondering the same thing about the rest of his testimony under deposition. I found it interesting that Joan said that Terri's so-called wish was to not be hooked up to a ventilator. That was artificial life support at the time of Terri's collapse, not a feeding tube. I am irate how the justice system has been perverted against Terri! Every day I feel the horror of this over and over again. I'm really grateful to have friends such as you all that I can vent with. Otherwise, I'd probably be a raging maniac! LOL!

That is simply amazing!! Michael was caught telling the truth for once....that is until Felos suggested Michael should remember Terri and her wishes.

Uh, er, Michael, we all thought it was because Terri wants to die rather than receive *artificial* feedings!

A hell of Michael's own choosing. If you read the letter that Mr. Schindler sent to MS back in July of '93, Mr. Schindler is clearly asking for there to be a way for them to patch things up so that Terri could be cared for.

Also, I can't imagine that the hell Michael's gone through is anything compared to the hell he has put Terri or the Schindlers through. I believe that is his main motivating force.

He really blew it, LOL! I kind of think, hope just a teeny bit, that he's sweating like a pig tonight, one that's in the process of being roasted.

I can't imagine such hatred - that he would punish everybody concerned. And the cruelty of the manner in which he wants Terri to die.

I'm not sure. I would imagine that this doc and it's contents is not news to Pat Anderson. Imagine how they feel knowing all this information all this time and having it totally disregarded in court.

I sure would like to see the rest of this document.

She most certainly can use his own statements against him. I know that Felos did it in regards to one of Terri's friends. She was the one that worked with Terri at Prudential when she collapsed. Felos brought in her deposition testimony at that trial. Don't remember which thread here I read that transcript on. But Felos for sure tried to make her look unreliable in the courtroom.

Very good letter! "In These Times" is as leftist as they come.

It was encouraging to see that every comment on that article criticized the author, and set her straight.

Did anyone notice that someone from Philly posted, and said that they're Terri's cousin?

I'm glad you posted that reply about the article Barbara Miner wrote. I love the scathing comments that were posted! The one from Terri's cousin was a nice surprise. Sometimes I forget that Terri has extended family just like the rest of us, because we don't see their names in the headlines.

You could tell what a biased article it was from the inflaming language. I ROTFLMAO when I saw her comment regarding Father Frank Pavone from Priests For Life, labelling it as an extremist anti-abortion group. Extremist, huh? She has a lot of nerve. I guess "extremist" is what you get called if you take a pro-life position, because according to the left, that's got to be pretty extreme to even consider upholding one of our constutional rights.

Wow! I will have to pray for Ms. Miner, that the scales fall off her eyes! God sure has added many people to my prayer list, ever since I heard of Terri a few mere months ago. I guess He's been trying to get my attention for a while now!

As a small contribution to Terri's Fight, I have converted to HTML the July 16, 1993 letter that Terri's parents wrote to Michael Schiavo reminding him of his obligation to provide for Terri's medical and neurological care and to allow them to care for her. The source document is here courtesy of pc93. The letter is transcribed verbatim, including a few typos and mispellings from the original. Hopefully this will make the letter more accessible to all.

Long before and during the malpractice trial you made a number of commitments to Mary and myself.  One of your commitments was that award money was to be used to enhance Terri's medical and neurological care.

You also committed that the award proceeds would be used to provide a home for Terri so that Mary and I could live with her, and as her parents, we could provide the love and care she deserves on a long term basis.

Since the trial and the ensuing award, you have chosen to ingore your commitments and have totally removed Terri from our lives.  You have not communicated to us anything concerning her medical nor neurological status.

We want to know what Terri's latest evaluations are both medically and neurologically.  It is very upsetting to be told by her nursing home medical attendants that you instructed them to withhold any and all information concerning our daughter's medical status.

Since you have excluded us from caring for Terri, the least you can do is keep us abreast about her medical and neurological condition.  I/we are requesting you keep us informed, on a weekly bassis, of Terri's condition and progress.  Simply drop us a note telling us what is happening.  It will only take you a few minutes.  I am sure we will all sleep more comfortably.

Regardless of your rationale, we believe you have a moral responsibility to include us in determining Terri's welfare.  Lest you forget, we did raise her for 21 years, and also, from the time of Terri's seizure up to when you chose to alienate us, Mary was continually at your side, caring for you and Terri.

Don't be concerned that we are attempting to re-establish or rebuild a relationship.  We love our daughter and are troubled about her welfare.  What happened to her is the next to most traumatic event that can happen to a parent.

On a long term basis, we would like you to consider giving Terri back to us, so we can give her the love and care she deserves.  Logically and realistically you still have a life ahead of you.

Give this some thought.  Are you ready to dedicate the rest of your life to Terri?  We are!  Let us know your fellings.
