Governments spearheaded by China, Brazil, India, Russia and Saudi Arabia are trying to place the Internet under the control of the United Nations or its member governments, a move that the United States and other developed countries are determined to resist. Pardon my French, but NO F---ING WAY!! PERIOD.
China can't even properly manage their own slice of the Internet. I'm not about to even consider any idea of theirs on how it should be run. Hell, they're the ones screwing it up with their insecurity, rampant spammers, and other idiocy.
And the LAST thing we need is the U.N.'s claws in our networks! Hell, first thing they'd probably move to do is shut down every RKBA site under the charges of its being a "hate crime against humanity" or something equally stupid.

Countries with developing and emerging economies would like to hand over that authority to a U.N. agency, such as the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). No.
Yoshio Utsumi, secretary-general of the ITU, which will host the December summit, said in an interview that Brazil is "a very strong advocate" of his agency taking over the Internet.
Brazil, eh?

This is outrageous. Cede "control" of the Internet to the UN? I don't think so. Look for Mr and Mrs X42's fingerprints all over this one.
I just broke my "WTF" key.

The Democrats wanted to control the Internet too (once they discovered that it was leaking out the truth). It seems to me that the tyrannical types all want to control the Internet.

The president of Senegal has proposed the creation of a "global digital solidarity fund" to help poor countries establish Internet access. Yeah, that's what we need, a million more Africans trying to scam Americans. If you wanna see China's contribution to the internet, go to ebay and look at all of the fake antiques. The ebay ads for the gramophones are a scream. It's some of the worst bloken engrish I have seen on the internet.
