Appeals Court Issues New Stay Blocking Challenge to Law From Terry Schiavo's Husband
LAKELAND, Fla. Nov. 15 An appeals court has stepped in to at least temporarily block a man's challenge to a law that restored his brain-damaged wife's feeding tube in a contentious right-to-die case. Florida Gov. Jeb Bush had faced a Monday deadline to justify the constitutionality of the law, which was passed specifically to allow the governor to intervene in the case of Terri Schiavo. The 2nd District Court of Appeal issued an indefinite stay late Friday, hours after a lower judge lifted another stay.
Michael Schiavo now must explain to the state appeals court by Tuesday why his challenge should be on a fast track.
Schiavo had his wife's feeding tube removed last month after years of legal battles with her parents, but the governor ordered the tube reinserted six days later under a quickly passed state law.
Schiavo sued Bush, and an appeal by the governor triggered an automatic stay. Circuit Judge W. Douglas Baird lifted the stay Friday, saying any delays in removing the feeding tube violate Terri Schiavo's constitutional right to privacy.
"The deprivation of this right is immediate, ongoing and presumptively unconstitutional," Baird said from the bench.
Attorneys for the governor immediately appealed, and the new stay was issued.
"I'm not dragging my feet," Bush said after filing the appeal. "I think it's appropriate in something that is a matter of life and death that the procedures that we believe are the appropriate ones should take place."
Calls for comment to Michael Schiavo's attorney Saturday were not returned.
Pat Anderson, attorney for Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, said her "life continues to be threatened by those forces who want to see her die from starvation and dehydration. We are once again grateful that the governor is doing everything in his power to protect Terri's life."
Michael Schiavo says his wife would not want to be kept alive artificially. She suffered severe brain damage in 1990 when her heart temporarily stopped, cutting off oxygen to her brain.

"Per the picture - Satan is in a dominating stance over the sitting female attorney looking up to him and offering opened palms. Hope Amy isn't intimidated as easily as that moment in time picture.'
Actually, she is in the better position. From a sales viewpoint, the seller does not want to appear to intimidate the buyer.

Some doctors have a real God-complex problem. My opinion is that the root cause of their belief that they have knowledge divine of the human body, as well as the general accceptance of this culture of death is the widespread absence of moral and Christian upbringing in this country.

Babe-please copy and past your short comparison of damaging a turtle egg to the killing of Terri and send it to the link above your post - the Sean Hannity link.
I have written enough emails about Terri and fear more might be ignored because I have become pesky. LOL

Sounds like more good news--we will be watching H&C on Monday night!
Lord, continue your vigil over Terri and her family (and her attorneys and all the great folks here and elsewhere that are supporting them.)
To: nickcarraway
A lot of good news and good additional information on this thread.
Thanks, nickcarraway.

Throwing a Monkeywrench Into The Media Machine
That's what Nat Hentoff continues to do by telling the truth about Terri Schiavo. And he's telling it to truth-starved Manhattanites who might otherwise only receive the East-ablishment Party Line from the New York Times.
Yesterday, in his Village Voice column, Hentoff asked the question "Was Terri Schiavo Beaten in 1990?"
As he described Tuesday in the Jewish World Review, and as I explained here almost two weeks ago, the mounting evidence seems more and more clearly to answer his question "Yes".
Hentoff reports on evidence from a brain scan and x-rays that were done on Terri in 1991. Nat writes concerning Dr. Campbell Walker's report:
"This patient has a history of trauma. The presumption is that the other multiple areas of trauma also relate to previous trauma."[Emphasis added].
Here we get to what focused Dr. Baden's attention. On cnsnews.com, Jeff Johnson reported, "Walker listed apparent injuries to the ribs, thoracic vertebrae, both sacroiliac joints, both ankles and both knees."
The most promising news is that a Federal agency, the
Advocacy Center for Persons With Disabilities (ACPD) is now investigating Terri's case. Let's hope they will be able to uncover the truth about the Michael's mis-guardianship of Terri, and about how she got into her present state in the first place.

I so wish to write to Amy Quezon-Jeb's attorney who had to put up with being in the same room as the vampire, Felos. Had to engage with him, and had to face, imo, a demon in doing so.
In a search for her, I came up with an Amy Quezon who is associated with the law firm, Wilkes & McHugh, P.A., and her bio states she specializes in patients' rights in relation to nursing home care.
I expect this is the same Amy.
However-twice I have tried to use the contact email links on the firms web page only to experience the hated screen freeze, re-boot and lost time as a result. Not trying again. The phone number for the firm is 1-800-255-5070 and I will attempt to call her tomorrow if attaining an email address for her fails.
I would like to call her attention to our threads here-as there are some thoughtful, well sourced, comments regarding this case and information about Felos she may find helpful.

sweetliberty: Can we try to check if that "Annie Shapiro"
story is a HOAX? I smell a FeelLouse rat!
The story is just toooo incredible, and now, I see some
things in it that seem absurd (like cataract surgery and
hip replacement for a person in a long term coma)
I also CANNOT find any mention of this woman in any published
newspaper, ONLY in a couple of blog websites. SO, I suspect
we have ALL BEEN HAD!
I suspect that article may be total fiction, and may have
been dangled out there, and forwarded to you, in order to
make the 'high blood pressure medicine' connection that I
did, and try to ridicule a certain doctor who wants to help Terri.
I hope I am wrong, but the FeelLouse legal team fights dirty,
and is EXACTLY this devious!

I don't know. I think it is Canadian. Don't know if that matters for searching. I didn't even make the blood pressure medicine connection. I just thought it was neat story.

Let's hope this federal agency can finish its work and not be cut off at the pass by this Judge Baird, a "Republcan" who is already clearly pro-Schivo-Felos.

Michael Schiavo says his wife would not want to be kept alive artificially. She suffered severe brain damage in 1990 when her heart temporarily stopped, cutting off oxygen to her brain. Why is Michael Schiavo obsessed with Terry's death? What is he hiding
what is he afraid of?
Thanks for the links on post #8, cpforlife.
