Do you suppose Ernest Angely has a God on bill-pay? He's probably dead now. But if he had been able to do so in his Golden Age, I believe he would have, yes!

Sounds like I need to start a church!
To: huck von finn
I'm pretty sure he's still around. Unless they are broadcasting his old shows. Which, if he's dead, would be kind of sick.
All I know is he is still on TV on Sunday down here, just like he was when I was 10.
And his hair hasn't aged a day.

I'm Baptist, but support the Salvation Army. I'm Congregationalist, and I support the Salvation Army too, especially at Christmas.
To: lugsoul
Have you ever even been to Alabama? I can assure you that Christianity is far from supressed in that state. Have you ever been to NY? Don't come here. It's not a good state for Christians (unless you're with the Salvation army working in the soup kitchens or homeless shelters, then they'll take what you give).
There's a vortex or something over NY that runs counter clockwise to the rest of the country. LOL
If you visit - Christian or not - you leave with every bit of strength drained out of you. This is a fact. No one can exlain it. There's no scientific reason found for it, either. LOL. Spooky!

A succubus?
Yes, I've been to NY. As Levon Helm said - "an adult portion."

"No True Scotsman" is extremely popular among the fundamentalistsHere's where you lose the argument. There are specific texts created by the founders of Christianity (including the words of Jesus himself) which define what being a "TRUE" Christian is. THerefore, if it can be pointed out that one's actions are a contradiction to the tenets in these documents, it is very reasonable to say that person is not following the teachings of Christ. You are confusing Christianity (those who follow the teachings of Jesus and worship him as God) and Christendom, which is the Christian "Brand Name". Billions "wear" the latter, and I can't say how many are the former. By their actions you'll know them.

Actually, I think Judge Moore is going to do the Democrats a great service when he launches his Quixotic quest for the Presidency under the banner of the Constitution Party.

Jackson in his own words stated the reasons WHY he took up arms with the South. If you read Robertson's book, you would know that it wasn't to defend slavery. Case closed. The man himself gave the reasons. Was Jackson lying?

Although this is a highly publicized event, make NO mistake about it that this is happening somewhere in America each and every day in some fashion. If the unconstitutional courts are'nt overturning a ruling of a conservative judge, they are ordering people to do or not do unconstitutional things. The courts are dangerous to our freedom and congress should pass a law to review and change the courts.THE COURTS SHOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO SAY SO IN THIS MATTER.The justice department should act solely under the direction of congress to clean this mess up.

That's your choice - always has been and always will be. What made this country great is that the rest of us don't have to feel obliged to follow your example.
Godliness made this country great. The lack of Godliness is destroying it.
Political Correctness, the toleance of all sin has created more hate in the world than mankind has ever known.
Satans greatest achievement was to get people to believe he does not exist. If there is no God, there must be no Satan.
He will reward you for your support someday. So it is.

The sorghum you typically buy is a molasses like syrup. I believe that it is made from millet. If you can't eat sorghum or peanuts, then you are already boycotting Alabama. Now, wasn't that easy!

Those that did all they could to justify slaver using the Bible are no different than the power brokers who ran the church during the Middle Ages(that is not to say everyone was a power broker either), no different than the lot of dictators that have littered our history, and no different than those who have peddled Marx and Lenin. They where all in it for themselves to seek power or keep their current power(wealth, land, political prestige, etc.), this goes against everything that Christianity really is. They sought power, not truth. One thing that no one should forget is that those who stray away from Christianity are no longer Christians.
To: Modernman
"Please point out where it says that in the Constitution or any other governing document."
How about the part where we are endowed by our creator. Not by our creator's. To whom were they reffering.
Now a question for you. If this issue had brought up before the courts in 1800,1850,1900, or even 1950 would the court have reached the same decision ?
