TERRI'S FIGHT
(Thread 6 - November 8-10, 2003)
(Link back to thread 5 - Nov. 5-7)

.

Contained in Thread 4:

Link to article on Michael Schiavo from hometown newspaper, information on death by starvation and dehydration, information on hospice eligibility and hospice and medicare/medicaid fraud, e-mail address for Judge Greer, transcript of Larry King Live interview with Michael Schiavo and George Felos, Terri's address at the hospice and the address for the foundation, to send cards for Terri's birthday (December 3), transcript of O'Reilly interview with Kate Adamson, e-mail addresses for Florida legislature, transcript of Abrams Report interview with George Felos and Pam Anderson, transcription of Terri's bone scan, legalese for dummies version of Gov. Bush's motion to dismiss Sciavo's suit against the Constitutionality of Terri's Law, link to FatherOfLiberty's research on HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy), links to ACLJ involvement in Schiavo case and Father Rob Johansen's daily update.

There are four other relevant posts that I want to highlight here in case anyone missed them or didn't get pinged. These are a general Terri thread troll alert, an especially thoughtful post about the sincere effort that FReepers are making in Terri's behalf, the Father's Love Letter , and remarks made by Jim Robinson on this issue and reposted here by lonevoice.

.

.

This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

There was a tremendous amount of information posted on the previous thread. For anyone who hasn't been following the daily threads, links to relevant posts and information from the previous thread are contained in the body of the present one. I have found that very helpful in trying to find something later. You people are doing a spectacular job of getting information out and also in helping to keep all of us updated here. What a great joint effort. This fight, to me, illustrates beautifully what Free Republic is about and what it means to be a FReeper. Way to go FRiends. Keep up the good work!

I am way behind on my reading. But that "Wilma Mackay" women saying Terri "was vain" just enrages me. Terri was vain, so let's kill her? That. IMO, was a nasty, catty, vicious, unecessary comment. I'd bet she got her judgement straight from Hubby Dearest, who always makes a show of being a "model husband" when his "friends and relatives" are watching him. Sociopaths are good at that.

Yeah, and strange coinkindink was that very day she had a huge fight with MS....according to HER family. According to MS's family, that's a lie.

On the contrary, I remember an article where Scott Schiavo said that they had been fighting earlier that day. At least that's how I read it. I'll try to go back to find it.

It's interesting, Annie, that Mackay said "she was vain" ... yet in the same article, the Husband from Hell was smitten by .. "a shy but striking girl" ... Makes one wonder if Mackay might not be "smitten" herself. I think there's much to be learned from the women in this husband love article.

Schaivo said both parents were starved and dehydrated and said he had "absolutely no regrets" about what "had" to be done. Starvation is painless, he believes.

There should be a picket at the hospice saying "Michael Schiavo, dry up!!!"

In my prayer time, I definately have been lead into praying for MS, Felos and Greer, their souls are important to God and we are commanded to pray for our enemies. I believe you are so right about that and it could make all the difference. We wrestle not against flesh and blood.

The end is near? Hence my freeper name.

At the risk of getting zotted for so called anti-semitism, I wonder what proportion of the liberals calling for deaths of people like Terri are Jews gone bad -- i.e. nonreligious or so called Reform/Conservative. The Orthodox Jews seem to have their heads on straight with respect to this matter. The rest not only seem to give no hoot about how their ancient religious traditions would treat lives such as Terri's as still precious, they have apparently forgotten what led up to Hitler and the Holocaust!

While everything you posted is true, it doesn't mean for sure that Mr. Schindler knew the difference between them. Lots of people don't know that there's a big difference between them, and commonly refer to counselors as psychologists or psychiatrists without ever distinguishing the differences. Sort of like when people talk about eye doctors, it could be an opthalmologist, optometrist, or an optician. I don't think we can rely on the accuracy of his statement, but can only use it as a guide for finding this person. The reporter could have even misspelled Caplan. I saw an earlier report where the reporter used Richard Pierce as the GAL's name instead of Richard Pearse.

What I found interesting (and what I thought you were pointing out) is this:

Original issue date (of license): 10/23/90

Filing date (of lawsuit): 10/30/1990

Yes, exactly!

I'm thinking that's the sister-in-law. Didn't his brother say MS became a nurse at the urging of his sis-in-law, who was a nurse?

I hadn't heard about that...

As a terminal cancer patient dealing with "Advance Directives" and how to arm my adult children against the pressure of the Culture of Death, I just came across something online that is perfect for them to remember. After all, the COD *claims* that it is entirely my choices that matter (which we know isn't really true, but oh well). That is: It is my choice to die of my cancer and that alone. Not dehydration or starvation or just enough extra morphine to get it over with. I'm not interested in "dying with dignity" as the COD puts it, which is such a crock. What they mean by "dying with dignity" is that other people involved will feel the minimum impact, will feel the least uncomfortable with the death. And that isn't "natural," that is unnatural. We're not meant to feel the least hurt from the death of loved ones, and it's a sick and sinful society that tries to minimize death by minimizing its emotional and spiritual impact by "dignifying" and "hurrying" it.

Terri is not naturally dying at all! And that's what's so very sick and evil about this whole situation. Nothing Shiavo or Felos or Greer has done lends to one iota of "death with dignity." Terri can't scream in protest; she'll die quietly if they kill her, and that's "dignified" enough for them. Going quietly and without discomfort to others is what is meant by "dignified." But we're also discussing the entire COD (Culture of Death), so I'll go on.

I've kind of flummoxed the doctors because they have to admit they won't know when it will be - tomorrow, or a year from now, suddenly, or gradually. I have small cell lung cancer that has ceased responding to chemotherapy, and is growing. I'm currently going through second-line chemo to see if they can give me some extra time, and I'm in palliative care. But I'm considered "terminal."

As such, I think I'm qualified to state unequivably that the COD's definition of "dealth with dignity" is spurious and evil. My "death with dignity" will be that I will die naturally, of cancer that can't be cured, with people who love me saying goodbye to me emotionally, painfully, and faithfully, knowing we'll be together again soon. My "dignity" will be their love and their grief, and their memories of me throughout their lives, not my going "quietly" without pain or discomfort to them.

Quietly

">> "What that bone scan shows is...an accumulation of calcium deposits in the joints," Felos explained.

What do we have here? A lawyer impersonating a doctor -- and getting it dead wrong. He should hire himself to sue himself for malpractice --if he's left any of Terri money to pay himself with, anyway."

If that's just something he's saying, instead of just reporting a doctor's diagnosis, might that be pracicing without a license? Just a thought.

Michael Schiavo has fathered two children with another woman." Dated May 10, 2001.....over a year before Jodi's first child was born."

-I find this very interesting and disgusting.

Thank you for this insight. Prayers that your cancer will go into remission or be cured anyhow.

Wow! What a post, and we can easily tell that it is from your heart. I am speachless and can only say that your post will be read by many people who respect you and your decisions. Even during this trying time you are thinking of others, Terri, that says so much about you.

My sincere hopes and prayers are sent to you, Gadd Bless yu and your family.
