This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

There was a tremendous amount of information posted on the previous thread. For anyone who hasn't been following the daily threads, links to relevant posts and information from the previous thread are contained in the body of the present one. I have found that very helpful in trying to find something later. You people are doing a spectacular job of getting information out and also in helping to keep all of us updated here. What a great joint effort. This fight, to me, illustrates beautifully what Free Republic is about and what it means to be a FReeper. Way to go FRiends. Keep up the good work!

Twenty-five years ago my father fell off a ladder at work and broke his femur. He spent 6 weeks in the hospital in traction and numerous weeks after that in a full leg cast. The doctor at the time told us that the femur, the thigh bone, is the toughest bone in the human body and is the hardest one to break.

Makes you wonder what MS did to Terri to break hers.

Very interesting point, about the femur being the toughest bone in the body to break. It is also the longest and thickest bone. I think Dr. Baden was right on when he said Terri sustained injuries from foul play, consistent with TRAUMA or a CAR ACCIDENT, and not a potassium imbalance.

Yeah, all those abnormalities on her bone scan, the stiff neck, oxygen deprivation, clutching her throat.....yeah, those were probably just from a potassium imbalance. Unfreakinbelievable, this guy.

She took a heck of a fall and beat herself up pretty good, didn't she? (MS BS alert)

It's sickening, that he got away with this...till now.

Your post says the original issue date was in 2000. When was it that Michael had seen the counselor? Does anyone know?

You pretty much covered all the points, sweetliberty, but one of the first things I would do for Terri, once she has escaped the clutches of the Husband from Hell and the Attorney from Hell ~ I'd put a little kitten in her hands or under her chin ~

Pegita, I have been thinking the SAME THING....she has had a desire to be a vet. What she needs is to hold a kitty that purrs,or have a sweet puppy brought to her bedside. I have a beautiful collie that I would love to bring and come to Florida to " visit" Terri ......I pray that God will allow this to be so.

LOL but seriously, Greer is being watched - and he must follow the law or he will be overruled on appeal. He can't make it up as he goes along...Connors is too smart to let him. In the past, he has made some questionable decisions and the Bush team may go so far as to allege he abused his discretion, such as picking and choosing what he allows in as evidence.

Most of the injustice in this case is a matter of Felos exploiting legal loopholes and Greer following the "letter of the law" and finding for Felos even when it defies common sense.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It looks like Michael was seeing the psychiatrist (according to Mr. Schindler in that article) sometime before Valentine's Day, 1993. That's when the fight between MS and Mr. Schindler happened. Mr. Schindler said in that article that MS had started to attack Suzanne before his incident with MS, and that he (Bob) stopped Michael. Wonder what that was all about.

At any rate, it seems unlikely that the Caplan you or nicmarlo found would be the same one, since the issue date of the license doesn't seem right. Is it possible that the name was Kaplan vs. Caplan? I know that in other news accounts I have seen the old GAL as Richard Pierce, when in reality it was Richard Pearse. Sounds the same, spelled differently.

Good point on it possibly being spelled differently. Quite possibly the person who interviewed Mr. Schindler 'assumed' it was spelled with a 'C.'

Hospice Woodside, where Terri Schiavo has stayed since 2000, has not received payment for her care "in a substantial amount of time," said John W. Campbell, an attorney for its parent company, Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.

Campbell said he did not know when the payments stopped or how much the outstanding bills were. Last week, Felos and Bushnell told reporters that Terri Schiavo receives Social Security benefits and Medicaid for some basic care costs. A fund for indigent patients run by the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast paid for up to $5,000 a month of hospice care, they said.

Hospice Woodside is receiving no Medicare or Medicaid money for Terri Schiavo, Campbell said.

"No one's tax dollars are paying for hospice care," he said. He said that Felos has told him that the estate owes numerous parties more than $100,000.

I think this is utterly ridiculous! Either they paid or they didn't pay. That should be pretty easy for someone in their accounting/bookkeeping dept to find. Oh, wait! Isn't this the hospice that has convicted felons (embezzlement) working for them? I bet they taught their new employer a trick or two. And then proceeded to rip them off. Maybe that's why it's never been paid.
