There's no tin foil anywhere in this article, dude. He does say he went out on a limb by blaming the CA fires on Al Qaeda sympathizers, but then shows that the DC shooter actually WAS an Al Qaeda sympathizer. Then he talks about a pretty interesting solution.

My second belief is this: if the fires were started by terrorists, unless Osama Bin Laden (or whoever is playing him) admits it in a message, no one in the mainstream press will have the courage to step forward and call it ‘terrorism.’

Just like the LAX shooting on July 4 at the El Al counter, nobody was willing to call it terrorism until six months later, apparently to not cause an outrage against our enemies.

Could be. However, last year the FBI detained some Al Qaeda who said they were actually planning just this sort of thing.

They want people out. Those who think that they wouldn't burn their precious trees should remember that they would rather deer died a slow painful death of starvation or decease rather then see hunters cull the herd.

Last year Arizona's 600,000 acre Rodeo-Chedeski Fire was started by an out of work Apache firefighter. This year dozens of fires have been started on the reservation by people trying to duplicate his success. Maybe we should round up all the Injuns and put them on a reservation.

The execution was luck. The planning and conception was simply, brilliant.

Never underestimate a foe, friend. Give them credit where credit is due, then make sure that they cannot do anything like that.

DARPA, I believe, contracted moviemakers and script-writers to come up with the most fantastic methods of attacking the US, after 9/11. That is so DARPA could identify possible incoming attacks based on certain symptoms and activities. Now THAT was smart. I'm sure they did not poo-poo the idea of Al-Qaeda-set fires, but like Adam wrote, what can you do about that one?
