"I just read part 2. This is more like a crime novel. I don't see why the Freeper moderators are insisting this be posted under religion.

Why Michael was allowed to get away with all his shenanigans is unreal. How Judge Greer allowed this to happen needs to be investigated. He allowed Michael's attorney to bring in last-minute surprise witnesses (his family members) but would not allow the testimony of expert witnesses brought in Terri's parents on Terri's behalf.

I didn't know that Bobby had said that Michael was sitting on the living room couch while Terri was still lying on the floor face down.

"When Bobby arrived at their place," Bob explained, "he found Terri lying face down in the hallway, with her feet over the threshold of the doorway, as though she had been coming out of the bedroom. Her hands were clutched around her throat, and her breathing was gurgling. Michael was sitting on the couch in the living room; he was a total basket case."

Mr. Wolfson the academic has written extensively on financial aspects of the healthcare industry so if this is a coincidence it's amazing there could be two people with the same name so closely linked to the issue of healthcare in the same town - though it could be father and son?

Thanks, just went there myself. The first time I thought you had input that Woodworth guy. Wow! Felos lives in a million dollar home right on the Gulf! He must have made some big bucks after winning the Estelle Browning case, huh?

Florida has done a nice job of entering the computer age. I wish Ohio was better than it is. Some state sites are fine, others need a lot of work.

The disintegration of the relationship between the Schindlers and Schiavo did not occur immediately after Terri's heart attack. He moved in with the Schindlers to care for her and accompanied her to California for experimental surgery that was unsuccessful.

The tide turned when the malpractice money came in 1993, Schindler said. That summer, Schiavo, who had started dating other women, decided not to treat Terri for an infection..."

Note: the CA exp. group saw minor improvement in Terri and recommended that Terri get followup treatment at Shands Hosp. Gainesville. Her parents wanted to do this right away. Michael did not, since the $$ had run out. He wanted to wait til after the '92 trial. He argued passionately for $$ for her care and rehab -- this Shands tx being part of that.

After Michael got the $$, Terri's parents asked him to continue the original plans for rehab, incl. Shands followup. This led to the open rift.

So this is a loose end. After seemingly 'moving heaven and earth' to take Terri to CA for tx, which sounds great in court & on LKL, Michael did not pursue reasonable simple f/u visits. I wonder if anyone at Shands or the CA tx place has ever weighed in on this?

Tutstar, you have done a lot of great investigative work so far for Terri. However, I really think that the Marjory Schiavo person is unrelated to Michael in any way, shape, or form. It's possible, but far-fetched. Now if you could find something on Richard M. Jerger, Jr. and Catherine Quinn-Jerger we might find the missing connection we're looking for. I hope this isn't too disheartening, because I've been noticing what great effort you've been putting in. I just think that in this instance, it's barking up the wrong tree. Of course, this is just my opinion and I could be totally wrong.

Supreme Court's Calder v. Bull decision indicates there's nothing in the U.S. Constitution that prohibits a state legislature from ordering a new trial in a civil case. The Florida legislature could order a new trial in this case under a new legal regime for this sort of case that it passes at the same time, prospectively (for the future).

And if there's something in the Florida Constitution that is held to block that, the Florida Constitution can be amended (state constitutions are easy to amend -- Article XII of the Florida Constitution is on how to amend it.)

Don't you guys wish we could interview Terri's family with all these questions about Terri's whole case? Maybe they remember some names of doctors , etc. that they came into contact with early on. I would love to get the whole scoop from them with all the details. Piece by piece, I bet the whole thing would make sense.

From St. Petersburg Times...dated Feb. 17, 1991 (1 year after Terri's collapse.)

This city has proclaimed today Terri Schiavo day.

Last year Mrs. Schiavo, 27, suffered a loss of potassium in her body that caused her heart to stop beating and resulted in a coma. She underwent surgery, performed by Dr. Yoshio Hosobuchi of the University of California at San Francisco in December, to implant a stimulator in her brain.

The brain stimulator implant was a success, said her husband, Mike. Mrs. Schiavo is slowly emerging from the coma at the Mediplex Medical Center, a neurological care center in Bradenton, he said. She will undergo at least a year of speech, occupational and physical therapy.

A Feb. 9 Valentine's dance, sponsored by the Vina Del Mar Island Association, raised $1,575 for the Theresa Schiavo Trust Fund.

To contribute to Terri's trust fund, send a check payable to the Theresa Schiavo Trust Fund to First Union National Bank, 5250 East Bay Drive, Clearwater 34624.

Lisa-would the volunteer accountant be able to investigate this....marjory-Michael's would be mother-in-law? Jodi-girlfriend. Frank Schiavo...? There are other companys that have Michael and Marjory's name all over them.

in above--I meant to say that there are other companys listed on the internet that have Michael Shiavo and Marjory Centonze (sp), the last name of Jodi and Marjory, listed--all share the same contact address (as board members). Upsetting.
