This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

FL_Engineer suggested that if you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

Juries don't care about the facts. They see someone is injured, feel sorry for them and want them to get money.

We had a family who who's furnace blew up while dad was working on it. He died. Had both children near him while he was doing something he obviously didn't know how to do. Both were critically injured, the son died after years in a nursing home. Daughter with permanent injuries and scars.
The mother sued the GAS COMPANY and won millions of dollars. In NO way was it the gas company's fault.

As I said, juries sympathize with someone who is hurt and want the families to have money to help. They don't care what actually caused the injury.

I could make insulting ad hominem remarks about people developing sweeping opinions on topics they don't understand at all, but I won't.

The case that stuck in my mind was a man who used an agricultural insecticide to clean his home of roaches--it was my dance teacher and her mother that he killed with quick-moving cancer.

The bag had skull/crossbones all over it--DO NOT USE INDOORS. DEADLY.

Did he get jailed for homocide? No. He just got lots of money from the chemical company that produced the insecticide.

I'm confused too, Graymatter. It was either in this thread or the one prior to it that I read the article written about the time of the suit or settlement, that he claimed he found her in the bathroom.

Now I'll probably spend the rest of the day looking for that bit of information.

The 'down' does seem to refer to 'down the hall', with Michael coming out of the bedroom, to reach Terri 'down the hall' at the bathroom door ... according to MS, that is!

Hello My Friends and Earth Angels,

Today I spent some time talking with the Terri's family. And they have asked me to share with you their feelings. MIXED EMOTIONS is the best way to describe it I guess. They are "afraid" and I will get to that in a minute. Terri is getting her strength back and is almost back to the way she was "before they removed her feeding tube." She IS responding to the everyone in the family again, the way she did before. She looks good, she is full of color and very alert again. Thank you God!! And THANK YOU... ALL OF YOU GOOD & CARING PEOPLE, who have done everything in your power to SAVE Terri!!

Her family is now being allowed regular visits and you do not know how HAPPY they all are about this!! AND Michael's girlfriend's mother is no longer standing guard in the room!!! Only the assigned Police officer is in there and one outside, which is good, because this way "she is under protective care" and NO ONE can bring her harm!!! This is a good thing!

Okay now, the family is very "afraid" and concerend that Terri's Bill WILL be over turned and ruled unconstatutional. They are actually waiting for this to happen. :( I asked them , what can we do to help, to STOP this from happening? The only thing they know to tell us to do is to contact and put "all of our efforts towards Requesting a full investagation into Terri. The family has asked me to have us, focus on emailing, faxing and calling the Exective Director of Investagation at the FLDE, REQUESTING him to "investagate Michael Schiavo of alleged spousal abuse against Terri Schiavo and neglect as guardian."

In addition, we need to also request a formal investagation as to WHY State Attorney, Bernie McCabe or "anyone else" did not investate this case, but instead "IGNORED" all pertinate information pertaining to this case from the beginning" as well. All of the gentlemen below need to get your letters!!

So copy and paste their email address into one email, there's only a few email addy's below, so this won't be a bulk mail. However, feel free to send your written request for a formal investagation to anyone that YOU believe can help Terri! We NEED to do this ASAP. It is VERY IMPORTANT. "We need to bombard them with emails and faxes if possible and calls" ... Lets make a differance, you ALL KNOW WE CAN! The Schindlers asked today that when we get tired, please REMEMBER "We Are Terri's Voice!" Wonder when, exactly, that underwriter went out of business. Was it directly after this trial, or much later?

he said he sued Prudential for Terri's rehab benefits.....

but nothing about if Prudential was Terri's insurance through her employer or how that came about

It could very well be that it was the same company. There aren't that many, and are getting fewer every day.

That also throws a bit of a monkeywrench into a vigorous defense, sometimes--if it's the same insurance company--they don't want to fight themselves in court.

I am also afraid that the FL "courts" will strike down Terri's Law. Can the legislature respond again? Didn't Speaker Byrd say that he had another idea, for even he expected this bill to be struck down?

Why not just allow the governor to review all death cases --criminal and civil? Until this case, most of us never knew that a person could be given a death sentence by a civil court.

Well the GAL didn't buy them either, and said so. Felos claimed bias and out the GAL went.

I scrolled down the web page page that was returned, until I got to a window with a number of alphabetically arranged names that began with "F."

I highlighted the name I wanted and clicked on the button that said "view."

Lots of neatly arranged information comes up.

Pinellas County has done a great job of entering the computer age ;-)

Fight for life seems at end

Terri adjusted well to St. Petersburg and the nearby beach, her father said. She worked as a clerk at Prudential Insurance while Schiavo worked at various restaurant jobs. She enjoyed the sun, dyed her hair blond and rejoiced at wearing bikinis.
