MANSFIELD -- Thirty years ago tonight, strange things were happening in the skies over north central Ohio.
A close encounter in Mansfield, that has since become known as "The Coyne Incident," is still raising eyebrows among believers and UFO investigators.

I don't have personal experiences, just that the subject has long been a source of fascination and interest to me. I'm actually puzzled that everyone doesn't feel this way about it, considering the implications.

I'm with you.
It was initially just a part of my fascination with SciFi.
Then my relative got that job in Nevada and later shared some stuff. Along the way many others with first or 2nd but close hand info have shared bits and pieces.
And, of course, there's tons of documents, books and articles.
I've gotten where I don't read much of most of the new books if they are just covering old stuff in the first parts.
Anyway--it is certainly interesting to me--particularly when one does some correlations with Biblical prophecy even as postulations and hypotheses.

Count me in on that ping list. I lurk more than post though. 8 * )

Wilbert Smith, A Crashed Saucer, and the Ultimate Alien Encounter I have quite a few letters of Wilbert Smith who corresponded with my wife's grandfather and talked quite a bit about gravity propulsion.

You can't seriously belive this Jackie Gleason story can you? I mean the man was known to make up stories for entertainment. Can you believe they would have such a facility at Homestead AFB? No way!
To: ItsTheMediaStupid
I don't have a big investment one way or the other in the Gleason story.
I do know that even in the USA [not only China] RELATIONSHIPS can make a lot of difference.
IF Gleason had a significant relationship of any depth at all with Nixon, lots of things are possible.
After Gleason's death, people still affirm the validity of the visit etc.
You seem to major lots in incredulity. Enjoy it. It's usually very protective against Type I errors.
Now Type II errors are another matter and quite a different hazard for your type.

I'll go shortly to my Word PING doc and collect the names from this thread that want on the UFO ping list. I think it's almost a handful. I may have 2-3 already there.
Thanks.
Lurkers are welcome!
And you can comment by FREEPMAIL.
You'd be surprised at how many very respected FREEPERS have had very fascinating EXPERIENCES but who just don't wish to put up with all the ignorant, inexperienced garbage from the naysayers on such a thread.

Gravity propulsion! What fun.
I wouldn't show the letters to Poohbah.
He'd likely claim they were forged or ignorant or impossible or infinitely improbable or irrelevant or some such.
I gather Grandfather was quite an interesting and accomplished fellow.
I hope you are protecting with multiple copies and locations the better docs!
Thanks.

I gather Grandfather was quite an interesting and accomplished fellow. He was the Naval Transport Commander for many of the major amphibous landings in the Pacific War. He also took the formal surrender Nagasaki in his wardroom and pictures of the Japanese officials was chilling.

The craft that shadowed and played games with the Japan Airlines Freighter 17 years or so ago was evidently the size of 3 aircraft carriers.
BTW, I'm tentatively putting you on the ping list. Let me know if you prefer not to be.

Look, buddy: extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.
Said proof is sorely lacking.
What "proof" that does get offered actually tends to decrease the credibility of the claim.
Until said extraordinary proof actually comes forth, I'm a skeptic.
Gosh, what a concept.

Understand about the extraordinary proof standard etc.
No big hard feelings about that aspect at all, per se.
I think there are some TYPE II error hazards with that which you seem to minimize a little less than 100% rationally but that's a minor issue--RELATIVELY, I *think*!
But the idea of YOU being
a Skeptic???
What a novel idea!
Now goodness . . . where is the PROOF of that?
Oh, yeah, all over the wall paper.
LOL.

Can you post the chilling pics of the Japanese folks? The pictures are in a Naval Museum in Maine.
When I first came across them 25 years ago I didn't know what they were, my impression was what the hell happened to them?
Then I turned it over and read the notes.
