Everyone from the horrified World Health Organization to your own grandmother knows that, unless they tear or are somehow misused, condoms have a nearly 100 percent success rate in preventing the transmission of STDs, including the virus that causes AIDS And a slightly more rarified, but still rather broad group knows that the "somehow misused" occurrence in condom use is anywhere from 20 to 40 percent, depending on which study you prefer. And this number seems quite impervious to change following "condom education." So the "nearly 100 percent" hypothetical success rate isn't terribly relevent.
posting morford is like posting DU articles. its pretty pointless. what do we think he is going to say???
interestingly though...I noticed lately in the chron's online polls, the answers are getting a bit more conservative, or at least being freeped...

Many (but nowhere near all) practicing Catholics you know are far, far removed from Pope HQ, and practice their religion on their own terms, with reverence and progressive thought and inner fortitude, and love and latex and laughter and healthy doses of irony and perspective. I imagine this was thrown in to appease the half dozen or so people in San Francisco who still admit to being Roman Catholic.
