Prevent Florida State Senator James King From Blocking Terr's Law

Florida Governor Jeb Bush is finally pursuing a course to save the life of Terri Schiavo. Governor Bush is calling a special session of the Florida legislatureon Monday to pass legislation that he worked on with Florida Speaker of the House Johnnie Byrd. ``Terri's Bill'' would immediately suspend all dehydration and starvation deaths in the state.

LifeNews.com, however is reporting that one man is the greatest obstacle to this happening, Florida Senate President Jim King, the man who controls the state Senate's agenda.

It's obviously important that we contact all state representatives, Senators, and other parties, but it is absolutely critical we put the pressure on Senator King!

Senator James E. "Jim" King, Jr.is the state Senator from Florida's district 8, which covers parts of Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns, and Volusia counties. Especially if you live in his district, please call him and tell him that he needs to listen to Governor Bush and Speaker Byrd and put this on the agenda tomorrow. Tell him you think this bill needs to be passed ASAP. And call any relatives or friends you have who live in that district to call (or email) him. Right now, he may be the one person with the most power to stop this bill. Let's let him know it needs to get passed. He needs some serious Freeping!

From attorneys and judges with an agenda in euthanasia to fulfill, to a supposed Catholic pro-life governor who is afraid to rock the political boat and do his duty to uphold the constitution of his state, to a legislature whose members are connected to the hospice industry which gains financially from the legalization of the right-to-kill.

Combine this with an ignorance of the masses who are unable to wrap their minds around the significance of bench-legislation that determines at which level of mental and physical ability a person is considered human, and with rights. The majority do not know, and do not want to know. They would rather ignore the ugliness, pretend it doesn't exist and play cutesy debate about Kobe Bryant.

Jeb Bush has been pretty spineless here. He was already on thin ice after the Rilya Wilson story broke. He will not get re-elected. He had other ways to deal with this than try to get a bill passed.

I wouldn't blame Terri's family if they never forgave Bush for his running around and not doing what he could. The husband (I use that term loosely) is a disgrace to humanity. To think that while Terri dies, his girlfriends mother is "guarding" her to make sure no one feeds her.

To think that while Terri dies, his girlfriends mother is "guarding" her to make sure no one feeds her.

That one really takes the cake doesn't it? Why would anyone want their daughter to be mixed up in such situation in the first place, much less be willing to help their daughter's boyfriend kill his wife?

Until you consider that she might gain financially, at least indirectly, from Terri's removal as a roadblock to her daughter.

If a way is not found to stop this, I fully expect to see congress members and Jeb come out to express their fake sorrow. They will express that their hands were tied, they were only following the law.

How many of us hardly ever prayed before this? So many have turned to God and he will answer our prayers. Sometimes the answer is no. Or, at least it is no for one thing (Terri) but he will mete out his form of justice to Schiavo, the girlfriend, and her/his families who supported this. This is truely a death of an innocent and alive aware soul. I don't think the girlfriend cares too much about the money is in making sure her kids father ends up with her. One of the witnesses gave and affidavit that was posted on www.terrisfight.org. She talked about how Schiavo brought the girlfriend to Terri's room. I can't find the affidavit on the site. Maybe I am not looking in the right place. Schiavo, the judge, and Jeb Bush will be dealt with. Maybe not on our schedule, but I would not want to be in their shoes when they stand before God himself to explain themselves. I am humbled at the thought of God. Please have faith.

There never was a "Terri Bill". It was a lie, to sidetrack her supporters, and buy the cowards and scumbags another day, so that she might hopefully die, and spare them the trouble of having to drag out the campaign of lies for another day.

There are too many billions of dollars at stake. If commercial killing is outlawed, there will be a major financial penalty, and these people are NOT about to accept that.

A Fox News afilliate TV station had a quote by Speaker Johnnie Byrd. Where did you find that it was a fake?

That's the first I'd heard about Terri's cats, too. It's shocking to feel so much disgust but absolutely no surprise at this revelation. I would argue that Michael Schiavo, his girlfriend, Jodi, and her mother are all in more of a persistent vegetative state than Terri ever has been.

I'm waiting to hear confirmable evidence about what really happened with Terri's Bill. In other words, I really want to know if Terri's family was actually told that Byrd was introducing such a bill, or if they heard about Byrd's willingness to support such a bill and in their desperate need to hope they took this to mean such a bill was being written and introduced.

Byrd's office (according to a phone call reported by another FReeper) denies that he was ever involved in writing such a bill. At this point, I suppose the details hardly matter as far as Terri's imminent death by dehydration is concerned.

All I feel I can do for Terri today is pray for God's mercy and His will for her. My heart is breaking with the knowledge that the pain I feel isn't even a minute fraction of what Terri and her family are experiencing at this very moment.
