Those who stand Vigil have asked that a Prayer Thread for Terri Schiavo be started for any wishing to comfort and encourage Terri's family and friends and those who have labored on her behalf. Another Vigil will be held at 1:00 p.m. today at the Woodside Hospice, and another will be held at 3:00 p.m. today in front of the White House, through the efforts of an organization for the disabled.

One of our traveling FReepers is now at the Vigil and has met with Terri's family and speaks of their enormous grief. Terri's mom has been given some lotion, which she will use to tend Terri's feet. Prayers posted will be printed and given to Bob and Mary Schindler and their son and daughter ~ may they find some measure of comfort in our words.

Dear Terri- Please know that there are many people who feel in their hearts the love your family and friends have for you. I have heard from some of the people who knew you before this terrible thng happened, that you were a bright light to them. I promise that no matter how this day unfolds, I will remember you and I will fight for justice for your family and others who may find themselves in a similar condition to yours. I pledge this to you ... your life is not in vain. My love to your family and to your parents.

Hearfelt prayers for Terri and her family. You will always be in the hearts of many in our nation and the world. May the Almighty have mercy on the souls of those who have lost their compassion for fellow man.

I wish I could find the perfect words to say, but what do you say at such a time as this? How many people have ever found themselves in such a situation? I have a beautiful daughter and cannot imagine the anguish of going through such a thing with her. My heart goes out to Terri and to her family. She is in my thoughts, my dreams and my prayers. Of one thing there is no doubt. That which Satan means for evil will be turned into something good.

Lord Jesus, comfort Terri and fill her with Your peace that passeth understanding. Lift her spirit into Your presence and protect her from suffering. Give clarity and wisdom to those who fight for her and may your name be glorified in the presence of Your enemies. Thy will be done. In Jesus' name.

We are not sure what is happening, our hearts break for Terri, her Mom and Dad, Brother and Sister and all the other vunerable folks out there this day.

You are our only source of trust and security. We praise You for being a Father who hears His children. We ask for Your favour, peace and joy amidst such trying circumstances.

May Terri be protected from this murderous rampage. May she be comforted in Your care for her and trust You completely. Heavenly Father, the hour is such that people are sitting down for their evening meal ~ food and drink and family fellowship. Remind us, dear Lord, that we drink what Terri cannot and we eat what Terri cannot ~ not because she's unable, but because she's condemned. Have mercy on this mother and father's child, for she has committed no crime.

Pour out Your ministering Spirit that takes her above pain and suffering ~ keep her free from knowledge of the atrosity against her from the one who pledged to love her and comfort her and keep her ~ to love and honor and cherish. Be for her that husbandman of the Bible, who comes alongside to render aid to the defenseless woman. Clothe her in Your garment of protection ~ give her warmth when she is cold ~ give her strength when she is weak ~ give her rest when she is tired ~ give her the food and drink that is the Manna from Heaven.

We continue to ask for her life, Father ... we contend over her and do not wish to release her to those who would do her harm ~ give to her beloved parents and brother and sister, a special annointing that they may withstand these dark hours. I come to you heavy in heart and spirit over the injustice to Terri Shiavo. I weep with others and come into Your presence with a burden too heavy to bear. You have asked us to " Come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST".....OH PRECIOUS JESUS, DEAR SAVIOR, I look to you right now for REST for our weary hearts and souls.

I bring Terri before you just now. I lift her up into your arms and ask that your PERFECT WILL be done in her life and in her body. Father, if it is within Your will, I pray that you sustain her with " manna" that no one knows of. Keep her body nourished the same as you nourished 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fishes. May God have mercy on her killers. May God forgive them.

May the evil one be banished from this country.

May Christ continue to abide at the bedside of Terri and continue to bestow upon her His peace and mercy.

Day 5, I think, now, means it is time to be serious about prayers for Terri to not suffer. Please fast if you can and email clergy and others to ask them to join us in prayer.

Martyr Varos and with him Seven Hosiomartyrs lived in Egypt during the period of several persecutions against Christians (late third to early fourth century). Varos (Ouaros) was a military commander and secretly a Christian. He gave assistance to many of the persecuted and imprisoned Christians, and he visited the prisoners at night.
