FREEP JEB BUSH for TERRI SCHINDLER-SCHIAVO
http://www.Terrisfight.org | Friday, 10-17-03 | floriduh voter

Posted on 10/17/2003 2:59:38 PM PDT by freeparoundtheclock

FREEPERS, I have taken a break from Terri's 24/7 Vigil to ask for your participation in the next phase of trying to save Terri's life while we wait for good news.

I have not received the Governor's Itinerary for the following week yet from myflorida.com.

We are asking Floridians and out-of-staters to freep the Governor's Mansion in Tallahassee.

If you need ideas for signs, it's basically urging Governor Bush to issue an executive order to stay Terri's starvation.

At this time, the Florida Supremes are reviewing filings today by Terri's counsel.

We need northern Florida to freep Jeb Bush STAT whether he's there or not.

Finally, if anyone receives Jeb's schedule in their e-newsletter, please post it here so we can hold Terri vigils in whatever town Jeb is in.

Sorry, I can't be more informative at this time. I'm sunburn and tired and this request has come from Terri's team. Thank you in advance. Floriduh Voter

Sure I know how to do it - but it's going to take time, energy, focus, and a lot of hard work to do it - but it CAN be done.

And, I hate to sound cold and callous, but if some innocent people have to suffer in order to preserve what little of it we have left, then that's a price we are going to have to pay... :(

So much for rational thought. Your games in the face of a deadly reality are thin gruel.

It does apply here!! You're calling for the national government to become involved in what is clearly a state issue.

which is in clear violation of the 10th Amendment. And I hold the 10th Amendment in much, much higher regard than the 14th

What games? That idea is about as rational as every other idea proposed on this thread tonight. I'm just going along with everyone else.

The murder of innocent people is evil. That you'd condone that to get what you want puts you in a bad light. Is that where you want to be? I've outlined the legal case for either state or federal intervention, you appear to be arguing for inaction to avoid setting some kind of precedent.

When a state law or official engages in a criminal conspiracy, federal intervention does NOT violate the 10th amendment. Take a basic course in constitutional law buckwheat.

I don't see how it can be recovered. Can you?

I think it can, eventually. But to do so you have to have an educated electorate who thinks rather than feels. And a couple of Amendments need to be thrown right out. Is it possible right now? Doubtful. But I think it's possible in the future

Bullsnot. My presentation of both federal and state actions are clear, legal and constitutional. You are playing word games.

Nah. I can live with myself, and I can sleep at night. If you can show me a legal way to fix this, and it's in a way that won't cost the rest of us more of our freedoms and liberties, I'm all ears.

You know, what I don't understand is even if Bush did an end-run around them that wasn't on the up and up "legally" to save her - the majority of the entire COUNTRY would rally around Jeb as a hero. Seems like he'd have his ear to the political ground if nothing else. But, he shouldn't have to be told to pull a John Wayne and just do what he knows to be right. There is a higher power than lawless laws made by backwards liberal judges.

Yup. His political acumen is unmatched by anything except his courage.

Maybe they are, but will those legal theories of yours stop with just this case, or will they come back to bite us in the ass later?

Ohh, namecalling. Last vestige of those who no longer have an argument. What you are calling for is for a state law by the national government to be overturned because you don't agree with it. Well, I'm sorry, while that may be common practice in today's day and age, that was not the intent of the Founders.

And I think that all you care more about this innocent woman, rather than our Republic as a whole, and therefore your views on the law are skewed by your emotions... much like a liberal.

You can hit abuse on your own post to have it pulled.

Might want to think about doing that.

The federal courts kicked it back down to Florida. I would argue it as a denial of her basic civil rights as stated in the Florida Constitution.

For the courts to side with Michael Schiavo, they would have to completely disregard Article 1, Section 2. They promote her as void of thought, hoping most will view a lack of mental awareness, which they promote in spite of evidence to the contrary, as useless to society and worthy of death. By denying her rights as a person, she is in effect mere property owned by Michael Schiavo. She is an object to be disposed of. Since she does not think, she does not have rights - her life is meaningless. It is tantamount to slavery, except that she's a useless slave that needs to be killed. Didn't President Bush recently speak out on the ownership of other human beings?

This battle could be centered upon her most basic of rights. Those having been breached because of her physical disability, and possibly because of her gender. It doesn't appear that this angle has been pursued to the fullest extent. I suppose defending individual rights is too touchy a subject and has too far reaching effects for a society that is rapidly sliding down the socialist slope.

To be honest, though, all hopes of legal intervention rest on the shoulders of those who breached Terri's rights in the first place.

If "our Republic" condones the murder of this innocent women, then you are correct. It is no longer worth defending. It is on the same moral level as Nazi Germany.
