Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott told "The Charlie Kirk Show" on Thursday that Senate Republicans are going to pass the SAVE Act to mandate voter ID and verification of citizenship to register to vote, and if Democrats want to stop it, they'll have to do a talking filibuster.
"The concept that you don’t have to show your ID to vote is foreign," Scott said. "We're going to get this done. The president is on board. He knows we have to use the talking filibuster to get his agenda done."
"Is it a pain in the rear? Yeah. But so what? This is a full-time job. We ought to be busting our tails every day for the American people. This is a very important piece of legislation that’s going to save this country," Scott said. "You're being too nice. The Democrats know they can't win wit their polciies, they want fraud to win. The only explanation is they want to cheat."
"If you want to talk, have at it. But when you’re done talking, we are going to vote, and it’s going to take 50 votes plus the vice president to pass legislation or nominations."

Voter ID won’t help if those electronic voting machines and tabulators are still in use...
US Constitution delegates authority to each state to run elections. So unless the constitution is changed it is impossible to execute total reform. Anything which makes fraud more difficult is a step in the right direction.
So you are against voter ID?
How does this qualify as a 51 vote threshold? It can’t be part of a reconciliation bill.
End motor voter sign up too.
Well Senate rules dating back to Robert C. Byrd allow reconciliation only on budgets, taxes, and debt limits. Don't think Thune has the balls to offend Democrat sensibilities by bending the rules.
What? Do those even exist anymore?
Go back to da interwebz, look up the Constitution, and have another look at Article 1, Section 4.
You're only half right ... and that makes you completely wrong.
Talking filibuster.
There should NOT be any other kind.
Only in snake pit of 100 snakes could there ever be another kind.
It’s certainly more fundamental, but consider that if the repubs did actually repeal commie care one of the times they could, they would’ve inspired more support than disdain from their voters (applying the RINO moniker).
As such, there would be a lot more of them in office and things like the SAVE act would pass easy-peasy.
May be not, but direct deposits require a bank account. And you can’t cash money out from bank without ID. May be food stamps do not require bank account.
Well it was single senator Maverick John McCain responsible for keeping Obamacare alive.
Republican voters are something like 95% in favor. It will become a primary issue for senators who vote against it in red states and purple states because even democrats favor voter ID by 70%
It’s called an “Electronic Benefits Card” ...
It's called an "Automated Teller Machine".
60 votes are needed only for cloture to end filibuster. After filibuster is finished due to lack of senators to be able to keep talking, any bill can pass with 51 votes.
Can you open an account in bank without ID, to be able to use the ATM?
Illegal aliens seem to manage ...
Thund will allow a vote but not before insuring its short by 2-3 votes. He wants off the hook, but also wants Democratic leadership in House and Senate as soon as possible
