Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott told "The Charlie Kirk Show" on Thursday that Senate Republicans are going to pass the SAVE Act to mandate voter ID and verification of citizenship to register to vote, and if Democrats want to stop it, they'll have to do a talking filibuster.
"The concept that you don’t have to show your ID to vote is foreign," Scott said. "We're going to get this done. The president is on board. He knows we have to use the talking filibuster to get his agenda done."
"Is it a pain in the rear? Yeah. But so what? This is a full-time job. We ought to be busting our tails every day for the American people. This is a very important piece of legislation that’s going to save this country," Scott said. "You're being too nice. The Democrats know they can't win wit their polciies, they want fraud to win. The only explanation is they want to cheat."
"If you want to talk, have at it. But when you’re done talking, we are going to vote, and it’s going to take 50 votes plus the vice president to pass legislation or nominations."

It’s a start. I predict that it will eventually get passed before the mids and republicans can stand and say they passed it with no help of the d’s. BUT, that is where they stop. They will go no further to reform voting other than this (they did something).
Sounds good except that this is the party that can’t repeal obamacare unless they have 101 seats in the senate.
Thune did not force reconciliation to pass the voter ID with 50 votes plus JD Vance. I think his strategy makes sense since this will force democrats to filibuster and expose them as being out of touch with voters. Even democrat voters favor voter ID at 70%+. Thune will vote yes after democrats can talk no more with filibuster.
Only need 50 votes plus Vance with reconciliation.
In states that require voter ID to vote, there isn’t a problem. Even poor black people </sarc> can figure out how to get an ID. Something that Dems claim that they are too stupid to do.
IMHO voter ID to prove citizenship is 100 times more important than Obamacare.

No one ever misses cashing a welfare check, which requires photo ID.
Yes, that could be a problem. Many more controls to secure the vote than just ID.
What is more important than honest elections?
