SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — This past June, Dr. Mehmet Oz was declared the winner of Pennsylvania’s Republican primary for US Senate by just 951 votes. Even so, he was not in a good position. And things were about to get a whole lot worse.
His bitter primary contest against businessman David McCormick had left him battered. His Democratic opponent, Pennsylvania’s Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, had gone on the attack — portraying Oz as an elite carpetbagger from New Jersey. Polls showed Oz had slid into a double-digit deficit in the race.
The money had dried up, and establishment Republicans were within an inch on giving up on him. The heart surgeon-turned-celebrity doctor was left with two choices: Go big or go home.
Oz went big — taking turns driving with his staff in his navy Denali — to meet voters in almost every county in the state. He held 90-minute town hall meetings and didn’t leave until he fielded every single question. He hosted business round tables, visited parents groups, maneuvered around cow pies at farm shows. With each visit, he gave interviews to local radio, print and television outlets, addressing the specific concerns of those communities.

I’m willing to give hm a chance, in favour of an unquestionable and unrepentent Democrat.

Who would have thought that actually talking to voters might be a winning election strategy?
And they have on their side, Fetterman, who is overjoyed about getting the "kill the babies" vote.
And then there's the same logic with Walker...He paid for an abortion...which he said he did not...And the Dems want us to be for abortions until the head is emerging.
Surely the Keystoners aren’t going to send Igor to Washington.
If Oz is breathing, he’s the man. Even if he isn’t.
Same here. The problem is the vote machine in the basement of the DNC Union Hall in Philadelphia.
I wholeheartedly support this type of campaigning. I’d go so far as to say we should eliminate the ads on radio and TV. If a candidate wants to win, he/she will be on TV and radio giving interviews. The rest of the time spent on the trail actually talking to the voters.
Ah but who am I, a nobody as far as politicians are concerned.
Not a miracle, not the first time posted, either.
Nice pics though.
At least Lurch has class.
And at least Lurch owns a suit.
LOL! Great point!
Lurch was my favorite character on The Adam’s Family.
The current Lurch not at all.
Thanks, but the moderator in his/her infinite wisdom deleted those.
"HOLD YOUR SCHNOZZ AND VOTE FOR OZ !!!"
I'll vote for Oz but you better ask Erik Latranyi if he has changed his mind.
Erik has been a total anti Oz guy but has been very silent for the past several weeks on this subject.
Have you come to your senses Erik and are too ashamed to admit your past mistakes and your loud and insane mouth?
Or will you stand up and scream like the mouse giving the finger to the hawk about to take you head off?
We all know that you wanted Kathy {what's her name?} but since she LOST you got all pissy and screamed your independence from "the man" and said you would never vote for Oz.
Are you still sitting in your corner, sucking your thumb and shaking your fist at Oz?
I personally don't give a fat rat's ass about whether you vote for Oz or not, we will win in spite of small minded bigotry but for your own peace of mind...confess.
It's the height of hypocrisy for democrats to be vilifying Walker over an abortion issue when they are the most pro-baby murder party this world has ever seen.
Now suddenly providing an abortion to a woman is wrong and evil??????
I don't believe the story either, but the democrats justify govt funding of abortions because women cannot afford to pay for one. So if this is true, and she got one and he paid for it, then what is their problem with that?
They cannot vilify him with this without making themselves look like the total hypocrites they are.
