Former NBC Sports hockey analyst Jeremy Roenick is suing NBC for wrongful firing after the network terminated his employment earlier this year. NBC said Roenick made indecent comments on the air, but they did not take action against a gay colleague who made similar remarks.
What did he say? The former hockey star was fired in February over comments he made on the Barstool Sports Spittin Chiclets podcast, where he joked about wanting to have a threesome with his wife and NBC Sports colleague Kathryn Tappen.
Im swimming with my wife and Kathryn, and theyve got their bikinis on, and they look (expletive) smokin, he said on the podcast at the time. Ass and boobs everywhere. Its great.
I play it off like were going to bed together every night, the three of us, Roenick said. If it really came to fruition, that would really be good, but its never going to happen.
He apologized for the lewd remarks but was suspended and, ultimately, fired.

Sounds to me like he was fired for being stupid
Yeah, I would have fired him too. WTF was he thinking?
Women have similarly sexualized male athletes, the difference is it isnt generally recorded. Anyone who thinks women yes, in the industry dont fawn over male athletes is kidding themselves and is woefully naive.
Of course. Just human nature at work. There is an old joke that goes something like this: if men knew what women were thinking they wouldn’t be so polite.
I the grand tradition that is FreeRepublic, I only read the except.
What were the similar comments made by his faggot co-worker?
Were they REALLY that similar?
I wish him well, but this guy was always a jerk on the ice.
You’d fire Frank Burns for whispering “Gosh darn it.”
Interesting sidenote: I just tried sharing the article on Facebook and got the following message: “This article can’t be shared because other people on Facebook have reported it as offensive.”
Yeah, no excuse for that. Idiot.
How many times has JR gotten in trouble? Admittedly they pay him to be controversial, but eventually that always ends the same. Sorry JR, you got nothing. Mostly because your comment could easily have resulted in Kathryn filing a harassment suit, that NBC would have lost. That’s firable.
Straight AND supports Trump? Surprised they didn’t have him Arkancided and not just fired.
Agreed. Actually never plan to go back to it. I am mostly done with professional (mlb still hasn’t gone completely nuts) and most D1 college sports (blatant anti-white recruiting practices).
At some organizations being straight is NOT a forgivable offense.
