HOUSTON It wasnt your typical Trump campaign rally.
Instead of red Make America Great Again hats, there were turbans and Islamic caps. Women in traditional Indian garb danced to bhangra drums. And tens of thousands of cheering Indian Americans chanted USA! and snapped photos.
President Donald Trump appeared at a cavernous football stadium on Sunday alongside Narendra Modi, the popular prime minister of India, who attracted a crowd of 50,000 from across the U.S. to what was touted as the largest event in the country for a leader of a foreign nation.
You have never had a better friend as president than President Donald Trump, Trump said as the crowd roared with approval. We thank you. We love you. I want you to know my administration is fighting for you each and every day.
Trump is hoping to appeal to Indian American voters, a growing political force in the U.S., with his business-friendly agenda especially the 2017 tax cuts as well as his tough talk on terrorism and his decision to show up at the rally even though the ethnic group has generally backed Democrats.
Its giving a message to the Indian community that Trump is a big friend of India, said Rupesh Srivastava, a Michigan businessman and founding member of the Republican Hindu Coalition. That message will definitely motivate people.

Well as one of those Dot Indians by heritage (I’m really a coconut. Brown on the outside, white on the inside, and not culturally Indian), and 3 generations removed from India, I can tell you my family is easily conservative, small government, 2A supporting. I’m first generation American. Dad is a vet. Grandad served in Korea. All American family. I’ve got slavery, racism, and the American dream running thru my veins. Those that come straight from India are still used to socialism.
They are? Not sure that Indians are mostly Democrats. They supported Obama because of skin color commonality. I think they are up for grabs.
This bill shows that our government is out-of-control. Passing legislation that is designed to steal our jobs with cheap labor. How did we get to the point that those we had so much faith in i.e. Mike Lee, Ted Cruz et al are sponsoring and voting for bills that displace American workers? I dont get it!

Someone posted this 3-Minute Tucker Carlson video that pretty well sums why they are doing it :(

Most Indians I’ve known are conservative.
I suspect Trump is thinking long-term.
Certainly Indians will not fit in today’s Democratic Party, they are near the bottom of the Totem Pole of special interest groups.
No wonder so many people think we’re all racist bigots.
Oh BS. If the supply of Coolie/Indian IT labor was cut off then Americans would flock to those profession because wages would rise immediately. The Republican Cheap Labor Express is killing the Republican brand. The GOP is the Anti labor party.
“Trust POTUS”
Indeed. POTUS is making chess moves in dimensions other players don’t even know exist. They will when they are checkmated !
Yeah Trump may get 8% instead of 7%!!!
I’d rather have some skilled, hard working Indians than illiterate people from other countries, which is what we have now.
Hmmm...I sense a message to China.
Last I heard trump was pres of usa.
Being pro American makes a person a racist bigot? Really? Where have I heard that before?
She is pushing to kill the Gop and flood the country with more foreign labor to push out the White population .
.
Why do i have to explain the obvious here that she hates this country .< Is this news to you ?/p>
sickening absolutely sickening
This is what I mean. Virtue signalling Americans out of jobs.
Her mom is Indian. Father Jamaican.
She was? Well then, Ms Haley gets a Pass.
Any charity work with or for Franklin Graham is a wonderful thing.
Yeah, still can’t believe he took the job.
He had the prefect life, and now...
LOL!
