Well as one of those Dot Indians by heritage (I’m really a coconut. Brown on the outside, white on the inside, and not culturally Indian), and 3 generations removed from India, I can tell you my family is easily conservative, small government, 2A supporting. I’m first generation American. Dad is a vet. Grandad served in Korea. All American family. I’ve got slavery, racism, and the American dream running thru my veins. Those that come straight from India are still used to socialism.

I used to get the chance to read ethnic newspapers for a variety of recent immigrant groups. India Today I think was one popular with Indian immigrants. What I noticed is all had an affinity for socialism, and it seemed to be regardless of income or education levels. It’s something that they are used to back home, so they vote for it here. And it’s not just Indians, it’s a lot of groups. You’re aware of it, but in my experience most Americans haven’t a clue.
