The best historical example demonstrating how our presidential election cycle has been extended to the point of absurdity is from March 31, 1968. In a nationally televised address about the Vietnam War, President Lyndon B. Johnson dropped a political bombshell by announcing, “I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president."
LBJ was weary of the war’s divisiveness and the toll it had taken on his presidency. Moreover, he was certain he would lose re-election because, according to Gallup (the gold standard of polling in 1968), his March job approval rating was around 41% with 52% disapproving.
By comparison, President Trump’s current RealClearPolitics job approval polling average is 43% with a disapproval rating mirroring LBJ’s at 52.7%. Even if Trump’s popularity dipped even lower, five decades later it would be unfathomable for an incumbent president to voluntarily withdraw seven months before Election Day.

That’s why the one news message on my phone today is CNN saying Trump’s approval at highest in 2 years.
CNN no less.
Though I NEVER asked for cnn headlines on my phone. But that is another issue.
I mean this is nothing more than, "Don't think he should quit now?" speculation instead of waiting for the 2020 election.
If anything President Trump can cancel the elections saying that the system has been corrupted by Democrats as well as outside forces, and then wait for it to be cleaned up. This may take a few years.

Yes, indeed, in light of the RATS’ obvious ballot harvesting and general corruption, President Trump ought to retain the powers of the presidency in his capable hands for the foreseeable future!!!
I don’t pretend to be able to read President Trump’s mind, but if he does ultimately choose not to seek reelection, I would respect his decision. Lord knows putting up with the Left and mainstream media’s bullcrap day in and day out must be tiresome as all hell.

LBJ would never have won re-election. Trump, OTOH, will.
Trump has never heard of the words “capitulate”, “give up”, “admit defeat”, “surrender”.
I can’t think of one instance in his life he ever did those things. Not even after having to declare business bankruptcies, he rose from the ashes like the Phoenix.
