The president of the Houston Police Officers' Union isn't mincing words after four officers were shot and one was injured while serving a narcotics warrant on the city's southeast side.
During a press conference early Monday evening outside Memorial Hermann Hospital, Joe Gamaldi put anyone caught stirring anti-law enforcement rhetoric in the community on notice.
"We are sick and tired of having targets on our back," Gamaldi said. "We are sick and tired of having dirtbags trying to take our lives when all we're trying to do is protect this community and protect our families."

Just guessing but, wouldn’t there be 5 officer injured?

I understand his anger and frustration but what can he do differently? Aggressive policing like stop and frisk is lambasted as racist and the politicians won't have his back. Shooting first and asking questions later will land his cops in jail pronto. Until such time as society is willing to stop persecuting cops and looking the other way when they are murdered, their best choice is to phone it in. Do nothing, let the bad guys run rampant and collect a check. Then eventually there will be a cry for real policing again.
See New York City, 1970s / 1980s and the the rise of Giuliani in the 1990s.

That’s what I was thinking. How could 5 be shot and only one injured?

The bad guys don't give a cheet about that and his words mean zip to them. So who is it this union official talking about?

Perps are white: one female, last name Nicholas. One male, 59, Dennis Tuttle.

Missing also is the amount of the Black Tar Heroin. 10 officers sent, 5 shot, 2 PREPS, now dead, even though the LEO were under armed. Neighbor tipped they were trafficking the Black Tar. Why NO SWAT team? Poor planning if you think that the raid is that huge.

A graze is a gun shot wound. But not considered a serious issue more a injury type. You get it treated and walk out of the hospital in a couple of hours. Have a scar and some pain for which you aren’t treated now, until it heals.

"Blue Line" the cops (no go zones) where not wanted.
They'll wise up soon enough....or die.

Then there’s the flip side of that same coin: abusive bullying by some officers that turns the public sour on the entire force.
Officer Friendly is becoming rarer. Officers Get, Onthe, and Ground seem to be proliferating.
I don’t know what the answer is, but something is going to break, with radically violent perps and authoritarian jackbooted thugs both causing issues for the public.
It’s not going to be good for anybody.

Poor planning if you think that the raid is that huge. Why would they serve a warrant for potentially dangerous people at 4:15 p.m. when they hit master criminal and dangerous desperado Roger Stone's residence at the crack of dawn? Aren't most people wide awake at 4:15 p.m.?
