Number of the week: A new Fox News poll finds that only 38% of voters said they would re-elect President Donald Trump if the election were held today. A majority, 55%, said they would vote for someone else.
That's in line with previous Fox News polls, which also found that a majority of voters wanted someone else to be president.
What's the point: The findings of Fox News are no surprise. The President has consistently had a negative net approval rating (approval rating minus disapproval rating). The re-election question is merely an offshoot of that and indicates that voters are not very happy with Trump's job performance so far.
Despite the consistency of the negative polling results for Trump, I would be at least a little hesitant to read too much into them. Job growth from this point forward in his presidency is likely to be a more telling indicator....

So how long have you worked for CNN?
The Democrats nomination race will be a mess. This is where all their identity, racial and gender politics will collide and cause one big headache for them.
Filler.
The election is not held today, so the whole article is moot.
0bama was a cardboard cutout that had only good things projected on to him.
Fake Polls from a Fake refuse (as in garbage) network.
President Trump's approval ratings are much higher than these liars would ever dare report. He has an exceptional chance of being reelected in 2020; especially given the field of communist, mental and political midgets the DEMON RAT party will be running.
CNN would make Joseph Goebbels proud.
14 Dec: Rasmussen: The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trumps job performance...

O’Rourke = the next cutout. My hope is that Trump hoses him down and the cardboard flops.
CNN’s numbers are so bad, only Soros can keep them afloat.
National polls are not only useless, irrelevant, and wrong, they are fake when assessing the Electoral College.
The Rassmussen polls are never cited on TV because they want to prove the fake news that he isn’t popular.
Since 95 percent of the Trump news is negative, PDJT has many people who like his job performance not answering that way to pollsters.
So maybe add 5 percent to Trump’s approval rating.
Now likely some deal on trade will be reached with the EU
and China this year. This will improve the economy.
Also, the real impact of last years tax cut will be felt
starting February 2019. Salt taxes will help moderate the deficit, and lowering the Trade deficits will help the economy and lowering the tariffs will help American sales.
The Fed usually is the factor that can screw it up by not realizing that inflation is low and rate hikes will curtail the economy growing at a moderate 3 percent GDP growth.
3 percent GDP growth won’t stoke inflation, and the FED better not screw up things to the point where people are laid off.
In a 2010 CBS poll 38% of respondents said Obama would be re elected.
Agree. But now many Trump voters are p.o.at him for his unrelenting crudeness and there will likely be more appealing opponents than the 2016 crop.
He will need to win more voters and he better get his act together.
Opponents awful. Trump’s rhetoric had not worn thin yet as it has now.
Donald needs to correct the media’s B.S. with truth, couth and style.=
His poll numbers are not low among the people that are going to vote for him.But since the Democrats have perfected their election stealing in 2018 and since the Republicans have no plans or desire to counter them, the poll results are probably moot.
Believe me. He will win no new voters with current style, will lose some who are tired of his manner. And he needs lots of new voters.
He needs to fight back. Hard! And he needs to do it with truth and condemnation of lies and misdeeds, but not with name calling and rudeness. He is truly gratuitously rude.
Before the Nov 2016 election, I was getting poll calls all hours of the day. Often more than 2 a day.
Since that election-—NADA—ZERO—Nothing.
I don’t know who they are ‘polling’ but it certainly isn’t people like me who are life long registered Republicans.
