POLL: Trump’s Current Approval Rating Highest Ever, Stuns MSNBC

President Trump’s approval rating jumped up to 45 percent, the highest it has been throughout his presidency, according to a new poll released by the Wall Street Journal and NBC. The poll left an MSNBC panel shocked Sunday night by the improvement.

“President Trump has shown throughout his campaign and polling what I took away from the 2016 election is the American people authenticity,” said Kevin McLaughlin of Cogent Strategies Principle. “May not like what authenticity is, what he’s saying or how he’s doing it, but he doesn’t back down from it. When he goes out and does these events, I will call them, it actually helps him in fly over country.”

“He defies political gravity,” he continued.

“So is he right when he basically says he ‘can walk down Fifth Avenue and shoot people’ and people would still stand with him?” asked host Kasie Hunt.

According to the poll, President Trump’s approval rating was up one point from the month of June, at 45 percent.

88 percent of the Republicans surveyed approved of the job the president is doing. (RELATED: Poll: A Staggering Number Of Republicans Approve Of Trump’s Helsinki Performance)

“President Donald Trump’s approval rating edged higher during a week in which he faced withering criticism following a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling that he is positioned to weather the latest controversy sparked by his unusual brand of politics,” the Journal said.

The survey was conducted from July 15-19, a day before the president’s highly criticized press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It spanned past the length of the controversy. While the president received heavy backlash for his comments, it clearly was not reflected in his approval rating.

Every time the media gets more hysterical, a new “walkaway” wave of people who just can’t swallow the BS anymore is generated.

And once they do, there’s no going back. The freedom of thinking for oneself is just too liberating to give it up and willingly return to the media narrative cage.

And there Trump, the avatar of anti-narrative, awaits to welcome them.

The “defy gravity” phenomenon is a result of this permanent movement of people. These people are forever lost to the media narrative writers.

In many ways the Trump approval rate is also the “woke” rate.

MSNBC has no clue what’s happening in the country.

His ratings are high because so man7y are ignoring the media. That’s what MSNBC should be worried about; they just don’t matter any longer.

The criticism didn’t “wither” the President, so wither should be understood to meet the other definition: to wrinkle, to dry up, to fade, to rot. Or maybe it best describes those who’ve voiced their hysterical false accusations and hatred instead of “criticism.”

Quick, back to the porn stars, that will surely work this time. If it doesn’t, go back to the cult thing, or the crazy thing, but remember, Russia Russia Russia.

We’re watching a president who is getting things done despite a nonstop attack on him by the MSM, the Democrats and the establishment GOP. We’ve longed for a no nonsense leader who’ll cut out the BS and truly work for the benefit of the American people! That’s what President Trump is doing each and every day, and more and more people are cutting through the MSM and Deep State smokescreens and are seeing it too!

Oh I think its been self defeating for a while. I know several people who were lukewarm or fence sitters who voted for Gary Johnson or sat out the election who are now in Trump’s camp. The big factors are him getting the economy moving and as a giant middle finger to the media which is over they top hysterical about everything he does.

I hope you are right. I do not see a lot of evidence that people reach a certain point of cognizance and decide from then on that they wish to be independent thinkers. To maintain that kind of Outlook requires pretty serious resilience in the face of the 24-hour onslaught delivered by Network news. I am sure every one of us at times gets alarmed by the latest piece of outrage before remembering that it’s just the latest piece of goofball propaganda. I also recognize that I would not see any sort of evidence of that kind of independent thinking kind of thing, with the exception of Trump’s latest poll numbers which I have little reason to trust in any event. For me, the prepubescent press and the devotees and sycophants thereto crave the kind of social acceptance that comes from thinking the way everybody else thinks. And that would be my contraindication to what you are saying, without directly arguing with you. Which I am not doing.

They bring up things Trump said in jest and turn them into something dark. There is no such thing as taking something out of context. They get away with it all the time.

Meanwhile, Obama tells his followers that if “they” (meaning us deplorable types) bring a Knife, they should bring a Gun.
He didn’t even try to present it as a Joke and his Supporters knew he was dead serious when he said it.

I think Trump’s secret here is that he’s sat and viewed the whole landscape, and come to realize that it’s just a ‘big show’, and you need to stake out your gimmick. He’s running all of this like a WWE-wrestling situation....good guys, bad guys, fake challenges, changing the hype each week, etc. Normally the news media would control the message, but he’s bypassed them with Twitter.

Go around and ask folks if they watch the White Press Conferences live....it’s a shocking number which log onto the internet and catch the whole thing unfiltered by the networks. I’ll bet near two million will catch either the live or taped WH press conferences.

You got people who’ve never donated to a candidate in their life, and they are talking about putting up $250 to $500 for 2020 for Trump. No idiot would have done that for Bush or McCain in their run.

He has polled at 50%, or maybe even 51%, so this isn't his highest poll number. Maybe it is for the MSNBC poll, though.

I wholeheartedly agree with those earlier in this thread who attribute at least some of the rise in his numbers to the over-the-top rants and raves and baseless accusations and smears directed at our POTUS. I would add that these polling numbers are too low, but also must reflect the many people who never get their asses to the polls to vote. Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.

don’t let the FakeNewsMSM outrage cloud your understanding of decent Americans, including plenty from the left:

22 Jul: The Hill: The Nation contributor: Trump critics would rather impeach than avoid war with Russia
By John Bowden
A contributing editor for The Nation says that Democrats and Republican critics of the president are letting their dislike of President Trump cloud their judgement on relations with Russia.
Stephen Cohen, who is also a professor emeritus of Russian studies at Princeton University and New York University, accused Trump’s critics, particularly Democrats, of preferring the possibility of impeaching the president to avoiding war.
“I put it like this: The people that are doing this would prefer to impeach Trump over avoiding war with Russia,” he told host John Catsimatidis on New York’s AM 970 in an interview airing Sunday. “And [Trump’s critics] have become our No. 1 national security threat. They themselves, these ‘Russia-gate’ people.”...

Well both sides need a little history, they seem to have amnesia,” Cohen said. “Since [former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt], every American president without exception has met with the Kremlin leader. More than once sometimes.”
AUDIO: 12mins42secs

“And by the way, for the record, every major detente, that is, improvement in relations with Russia, has been led by a Republican president,” he said. “So he is squarely within that tradition.”...
So in my judgement, because the relationship with Russia is so dangerous today, more dangerous than any time in my lifetime ... Trump had no choice. It was the duty of the American president to go meet with Putin, and try and walk back some of these conflicts.”...
Cohen previously criticized media coverage of the joint press conference, calling it “mob violence.”

I asked a friend who grew up in Eastern Europe in the bad old days, “How many people believed the communist propaganda?” His response: “None.”
