Dem pollster: Clinton showed that being against Trump is not enough to win
The Hill ^ | July 11, 2018 | Julia Manchester

Democratic pollster Carly Cooperman on Wednesday pointed to Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential bid to argue that opposing President Trump alone is not enough to win an election.

"With Hillary Clinton, we saw that just being against Trump isn't enough," Cooperman, who is a partner at Schoen Consulting, told Hill.TV's Joe Concha on "What America's Thinking."

“There is so much anger and passion in the Democratic Party right now to come out against Trump, but I do not think that will be enough," she continued. “The Democrats need more than just that, and they need to have ideas that they're articulating in terms of immigration and the economy."

Cooperman's comments come as Democrats prepare to face off against Republicans in the November midterm elections, with Republicans seeking to defend a narrow majority in the Senate and fend off Democrats trying to retake the House.

Democratic candidates and incumbents have recently lashed out against the Trump administration's controversial "zero tolerance" immigration policy that led to the separation of migrant families at the U.S.-Mexico border, among other criticisms.

From what I can see, all trends seem to be in Trump’s direction with respect to those Rust Belt states. He’s delivering on jobs, trade, and immigration, and the Democrats are going even further out to the left.

Right now, those “prog” stooges and their “blue wave” better pray they don’t end up the same way they did on the evening of 8 Nov 2016 when their wave turned to a flood of tears.

It’s even worse because Hillary ran on “against Trump” and “experience”. Well, in 2020 no democrat will be able to play the “more experienced” card either as 4 years as president certainly “Trumps” (pardon the pun) whatever experience they might have.

Look at ALL those mistakes TRUMP made during the campaign + he was outspent 2 to 1 & Hillary probably had 4 to 1 on staffing, The FBI was against TRUMP, #NeverTRUMPers everywhere, that KILLER Grab her by the Pu$$y tape & TRUMP still trounced Hillary Electorally

I just don't see how TRUMP gets beat in 2020 when his ace in the hole are the 75% NeverTRUMPers that are MAGA now!

Democrats are going to be surprised when TRUMP wins PA, MI & WI even more convincingly this time around, there were 100,000 to 150,000 Gary Johnson voters there, tons of NeverTRUMPers for TRUMP now! LOL

Why do you act like we are playing defense? He beat the Clinton Machine. And you act like he won’t make any gains against a normal Democrat. He will add Minnesota next time at a minimum. And he’s the incumbent.

Let them whine. Abolishing the Electoral College would take a Constitutional amendment, which will never happen.

They forget. It wasn’t that long ago.
Hillary didn’t even run! She and Obama said that there was no way Trump could win. They took him and us as a joke.

I'm will to go with the popular vote only after we have Voter ID implemented

Who here thinks the economy would’ve improved under Hillary?

I sold my house in Feb 2016 and was sitting waiting for the housing market to crash under Hillary, in my market type of place I am looking for is up $50,000 since the election.

Except that they don't require such for the Dem side of the political spectrum. Recall that in 2008, Obama's claim to executive level experience was that he ran his own presidential campaign.

I know many people who would never vote for a Dem but couldn’t bring themselves to vote for DJT in 2016.

They have no qualms about supporting him now. That’s going to show up in November.

I’ll bet we all know folks like this.

Turns out that it's also insufficient to corrupt the justice system. The Demagogic Party is devoted to creating a single party state, and can't be trusted with a burned-out match, much less with power. Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.

The only mistake the Clinton campaign made was in under estimating the amount of fraud needed to win.

Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
