Hillary Clinton skewered Fox News focus on her, almost a year after the presidential election, in a speech to the Human Rights Campaign at its national dinner on Saturday.
The news network has focused on her campaigns role in financing the opposition research that led to the infamous Russian dossier, as well as a host of other storylines, even as other organizations report on word that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has filed the first charges in his investigation into the 2016 election.
After quipping that she would have preferred to be living closer to this years HRC dinner, Clinton said, It does strike me that in the last few days that at least Fox News seems to think thats where I live, in the White House, because they spend a disproportionate amount of time talking about impeaching me. So look, if they want to make a trade, Id be more than willing.
Her comments drew big cheers from the crowd of about 3,600 people. HRC is the largest LGBTQ rights organization in the country.
Clinton also warned of the Trump administrations agenda, as well as of the Senate candidacy of Roy Moore in Alabama.
When the Republican Senate candidate in Alabama supports the idea that homosexuality should be criminalized, and refuses to say whether or not he thinks that LGBT people should be executed, Americans of every party, of any decency, Democrats. Republicans and independent should condemn him and those views, she said. And that includes the President, the Senate majority leader, the Speaker of the House and every single elected official who endorses a candidate with those views should be held accountable.
President Donald Trump endorsed Moores rival in the Republican primary, Luther Strange, but since Moores victory has praised him at times. More recently, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), the Senate majority whip, endorsed Moore.
Clinton urged those in the crowd to continue to press on even as the administration has taken steps to roll back LGBTQ rights. Trump tweeted earlier this year that transgender members of the military would be banned from service, although it is unclear how the Pentagon will handle those currently serving.
It is just wrong that in 2017 you can lose your job, lose your home, or if this administration gets its way, be denied a wedding cake simply because of who you are and who you love, Clinton said.
Also speaking at the event was HRC president Chad Griffin, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Khizr Khan. Honorees included actress Uzo Aduba and Amazons Jeff Bezos, while DNCE performed.
No matter how many times I see that, I cant get over it. Can you imagine how the media would have acted if Trump had done that...
Her extremely annoying vocal stylings sound like she should have a cigar hanging off the side of her mouth.
I’ll admit it. When I saw HRC Dinner in the headline, I thought, “She named a dinner after herself??!!”
The DNC controlled media is doing everything they possibly can to bury the uranium one scandal.
If the uranium one scandal gains traction, the Trump administration has enough evidence to bust the DNC-clinton-DOS-DOJ-FBI cabal on a whole slew of RICO statutes.
Does Human Rights Campaign support freedom of religion?
Do these homofascists realize that Hitlery Rotten Clinton publicly opposed same sex marriage when she ran for public office?
It sounds like Moore might want to stay away from Marcy Park. It appears the Clintoons have drawn a bead on him.
Hellary, where is Bill? He might be using a cigar on someone at Pedophile Island. Of course, if I was ‘married’ to you I’d get it from someone else, too.
5 of the 55 Republican senators split from the others. Not ONE stinking RAT voted to remove. NOT ONE! It would have taken at least 12 since removal needs 2/3's or 67 votes.
Bill Bennett was right the DNC sold their souls for a mess of potage for not asking Bill to resign over the Monica Mess, they will defend the undefenses-able, and have jettisoned any semblance of morality and core values in the process. High price indeed....
We don't do that anymore. Hillary best look to retaining the remaining White men the Dems haven't yet driven out of their party.
Telling them - you may be confused about the sex God made you, but surely you can understand this...
But she is a Democrat, it won’t count for her, whereas for a Republican, the slightest feeling that the bathroom policy is stupid would earn you the label of hell Spawn
Why not? She tries to hog the nomination for POTUS when there are other potential candidates in the Democrat Party. Plus she lost the general election. Time to give someone else a shot. But by all means, if she takes away the substance from other candidates, that’s their loss and ultimately both her fault and the party’s fault.
A woman defeated by a Kenyan faggot on her bid for president should be frustrated by being beat by an actual man
