Unemployment is down, wages are up and to many Americans, the financial crisis may feel like a memory. But for those in rural America and regions tied to industries on the decline, joblessness remains a huge problem.
Hillary Clinton says there is one possible solution to joblessness but it's a tough pill to swallow. In "What Happened," Clinton writes that the possible solution is one few people want to discuss.
"As hard as it is," she writes, "people may have to leave their hometowns and look for work elsewhere in America."
While she advocates for local governments, employers and other actors to work together to bring new jobs in booming areas such as healthcare, construction and solar power, she also says that those efforts might not be enough.
"In some places the old jobs aren't coming back," she writes, "and the infrastructure and workforce needed to support big new industries aren't there."(continued)

BS. You could end all taxes and roll black every single regulation and the factories would still be off shored to exploit cheap 3rd world wages and the fact the the USA does charge an import tariff. Fact fact fact.
You are so right. I saw this coming as soon as the 1990’s. This rush to globalization will lead to socialism in the USA then to one world government. I hope the elites made enough money to build big enough walls around their communities.
You want jobs to come back? Stop taxing and regulating business to death. It’s not rocket science.
Obama was very cynical about statistics. Obamacare was designed to bleed the middle class, mostly white, for the benefit of the underclass, disproportionately non-white. But, other areas, like say, school discipline, were subject to strict racial proportionality outcomes.
I too had a business, with partners—but was fortunately able to retire ahead of the game. I doubt I’d have the will to do it all over again these days, as legal and accounting issues have become ever more difficult, time consuming, contradictory, and expensive.
Thanks to the 2009 stimulus package, solar companies like Solyndra are creating millions of green jobs!
That's the first thing that woman's ever said that I agree with.
Plus I don’t remember the Clinton’s having solar anything?
A mobile work force has always been one of America’s many strengths. You move to the jobs.
The Fed hasn't "printed money" since October 2014 when QE3 ended. They're about to start "unprinting money" to unwind QE.
As a professional carpetbagger who traveled to arkansas and new yawk to fleece the "little people", she should know, but most people don't have luxury jets provided at taxpayer expense to go home, when the family needs them, so they try to stick closer to home.
Is she saying people must take care of themselves? Has she forgotten who she is?
“As hard as it is,” she writes, “people may have to leave their hometowns and look for work elsewhere in America.”
In all honesty, I think that is “preaching to the choir”, HER choir, her choir of people told for years, by her, to just remain stuck in their Liberal/Progressive government plantation society environment and “the government” will “lift them up” where they are.
While Conservatives have always known the simple truth - sometimes circumstances require you to move to make necessary changes to how you are living. It’s not “news” to us, but it is not what the sheeple who like Hillary have been used to hearing from their Liberal political masters.
Americans have a love affair with Japanese cars too. Not me, I buy domestic.
With all the articles to post why we keep on printing this junk on Hillary is beyond me....She’s nothing anymore in telling people what to do...giving here a political place just feeds her desire to remain relevant when she actually is not.
Just curious———if you had done your shopping in Germany where would those essentials have been manufactured?
.
Did some work in a Walmart once.
The only thing made in America is the people that work there
In a regular type shop....mostly in China, Vietnam. If you go to a upscale shop...mostly in Italy. If you really went far up-scale....you could still buy French/German made items but you’d be talking about 100 Euro for three pairs of underwear.
Thanks-—in other words the bargain hunters, like us,still get Chinese products.
That said,I’d be willing to go up-scale for some things but underwear and socks would not be on that list. :-)

I guess that I can become incorporated and put myself on a weekly payroll somehow to get a lower rate. Sounds like a huge hassle.
“... He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance....”
And as Cruz had said during his much ridiculed speech at the time of the vote, once something like obamacare gets enacted it is almost impossible to repeal it, as we are of course now seeing.
What she’s talking about is the UN Agenda 21.
