Hillary Clinton: Unemployed Americans may need to make this 'gut-wrenching' choice

Unemployment is down, wages are up and to many Americans, the financial crisis may feel like a memory. But for those in rural America and regions tied to industries on the decline, joblessness remains a huge problem.

Hillary Clinton says there is one possible solution to joblessness — but it's a tough pill to swallow. In "What Happened," Clinton writes that the possible solution is one few people want to discuss.

"As hard as it is," she writes, "people may have to leave their hometowns and look for work elsewhere in America."

While she advocates for local governments, employers and other actors to work together to bring new jobs in booming areas such as healthcare, construction and solar power, she also says that those efforts might not be enough.

"In some places the old jobs aren't coming back," she writes, "and the infrastructure and workforce needed to support big new industries aren't there."(continued)

Good thing we have Hillary around to figure out stuff like this. You mean like you abandoned Arkansas for New York?

Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.

— Ninth plank of communism
Making people rip up their roots is part of the Marxist plan to destroy the family and other pillars of normal society.

CORRECTION

"In some places the old jobs aren't coming back because we made sure to ship them to Mexico and China!," she writes, "and the infrastructure and workforce needed to support big new industries aren't there because we regulated them to death too."

Go into any department store in America.

Anywhere. In any state. Any city. Go into any Walmart anywhere. Any Target anywhere. Any K-mart anywhere.

Go into any hardware store, anywhere.

Go into any toy store. Basically any store, anywhere, except food.

And all you will see on every single aisle, is made in China.

I know, there are exceptions, but less and less, all of the time.

THAT is the problem. Not where you live.

What is the issue, is our companies have sold out our own country.

Both parties. Everyone is selling out America.

She and her husband are pretty much the two biggest culprits.

No, the government strangled the companies with taxes and regulations (minimum wages, etc.).

You caught that? They have certain codewords and shibboleths they have to insert in every statement and conversation about certain subjects, as a matter of rote.

The reasons are not as significant, as the fact that almost every American company, is now focusing on industrializing China.

Not America.

That is the problem. And it is a big, and growing problem.

The problem is a whole heck of a lot bigger than the Clintons.

Both parties, are involved.

It could be, I believe, that bringing back American production, could re-align the political parties in America within the next two election cycles.

Big time.

Taxes and regulations are the cause of those things.

If Trump can’t get it done it’s probably undoable.

If he doesn’t reign in the Fed and stops it from printing money he would at best patch things temporarily.

Around ten years ago (I normally reside in Germany)...I made this trip back to the US and was going to Walmart for restocking my essentials (socks, t-shirts, underwear). I went through the whole men’s section....everything was made in Mexico. It was a good price but I wanted to buy American when possible.

So I went off to Pennys and another big-name shop...same issue. Socks, underwear and t-shirts....all from Mexico. I think I finally stepped into a Kohls and found US-made products.

What people need to do...is eyeball the product and start a simple trend to only buy American-made. You emphasize the habit to your kids, and you go ahead and pay the 20-percent extra. If we all did this...it’d take less than two years for some major changes to occur with the ‘system’.

Sorry but I think Trump needs to get involved.

Our industry is being decimated.

Every place except America, is benefitting.

Trump needs to change the rules, back to bring the advantage back to America, for jobs.

Enough globalization.

Be for America.

Why not also point out to the elephant in the room... corporate taxes in the U.S.: 35%. Canada: 15%.

Cost of regulations in the U.S.: don’t even know, but compared to Mexico or China, astronomical.

Get rid of both. Get it to what it was when the U.S. was growing.

It won’t be done in part because the country finances so many wars, right now with 7 wars. Stopping the wars, nation building, printing of money, and taxes and regulations will bring production back.
