Election turnout was abysmal in L.A., and that means trouble for Democrats nationwide
The Los Angeles Times ^ | March 9, 2017 | Mike Madrid

Los Angeles County had a dismal turnout rate in the March 7 election, the first chance for voters to express themselves at the ballot box since Donald Trump’s stunning victory. People here seem more political than in the past — they go to a lot of protests and town halls, and they fill their social media accounts with anti-GOP screeds. But less than 12% of eligible voters showed up.

This suggests that hatred of our new president isn't sufficient to get out the vote.

Granted, the election was a local affair. The most controversial questions for voters involved measures to regulate the cannabis industry and restrict development. The national GOP was not on the ballot. Neither was Trump.

And yet, politicians and activists, eager to combat the usual off-year, off-season voter apathy, certainly tried to inject Trump in the race.

His name and face were everywhere and a part of almost every campaign. He was on mailers, mobile ads and door hangers. Candidates and interest groups worked overtime to show that their opponents were somehow supportive of, aligned with or of similar cast of mind to the unpopular man in the White House....

Yeah, he's so "unpopular" that you might not want to even run a candidate against him next time. Who are we looking at? Elizabeth Warren? Hillary again? Bernie?

As I suspected. Dems are sinking faster than a torpedoed boat.

California is not a good measure for the nation. Turnout is low because voting is pointless.

Vote for a Democrat and not for an American. The Democrat wins. Vote for an American but the Democrat wins anyway.

Well, Hillary has that snazzy new hairdo, laughingly called a “pixie cut” by some fevered feminist news girl. An aged pixie, for sure. It only succeeded in making her nose look twice as large, so it probably is not going to help her in a third try for the White House.

That's because astroturf isn't real.

I was in LA for 3 days and I saw more incidents of road-rage in that time than I see in an entire year in New York.

I don’t think the Dims have an f’ing clue how divided they are in terms of the Bernie coalition, who hate the DNC and the establishment as much as they hate Trump and the GOP.

Think about that, though ... An insurgent campaign by populists in these urban areas ... We ought to take as many back as we can ... At some point the Dems will have to splinter ... GOP rule for two decades

The hatred of Trump is exaggerated and magnified by the propaganda press. The press shows weenie-boys rioting in Berkeley and try to make everyone believe that the country is overflowing with skinny wimps sporting pink Mohawk haircuts and bones in their noses protesting Trump.

They talk like 100% are against Trump but most of them are too lazy to go vote. The reality is that the number of people against Trump is much smaller than they want to think. Statistically as many as half of those who voted would be in support of Trump.

All those ineligible voters are scared to show up now that President Trump is putting the country back on the right track.
