JULY 29: A new election poll released this morning (conducted on July 28) by the USC Dornsife / LA Times Presidential Election Poll shows that Donald Trump has 46.7% of the total popular vote, while Hillary Clinton lags behind with 40.6% of the popular vote. 2,188 people were surveyed.
This is a very surprising result, considering that the Democratic National Convention usually gives the Democratic candidate a large boost in the polls. It did not seem to be the case this year for Hillary Clinton....

Yeah, can’t speak too soon, Trump’s lead narrowed by a point following Hillary’s night...not bad as such things go but way too soon to say she had no bounce at all.
Yes um I’ve been a loyal democrat all my life and I just switched to republican because I just can’t vote for Hillary...
We all should do this. Every little thing helps. If a lot of people did just a little, it would add up. We found out this about the push by Congress for amnesty a few years ago. We kept calling and writing emails and it did make a huge difference.
Such as most states and electoral college
A rep for the poll company was on local Los Angeles radio yesterday and said that it is a rolling average and the results of the Dem convention will start appearing Sun-Mon.
Also, he said they also roll into results the voters likelihood of voting and he stressed that is what is different abut their polls. More likely to vote would weigh more.
Yeah, I have been watching politics for a lot of years; and, this is the first time a candidate has gotten a "convention bounce" from his opponent's convention.
You’d better go read RealClearPolitics or FiveThirtyEight.
You’re ill informed. Trump is leading or in a dead heat in most of the so called swing states that have been polled.
LOL, that is why they hide her a lot from the public eye. When the public actually sees and hears her, they remember that they don't like her. This is a very bad problem for someone in politics.
The choice is clear, Hillary will be weak and further transform America into the bowels of a socialist state, OR Trump who will make America Great Again and protect the constitution by nominating conservative judges who will preside over SCOTUS for the next generation.
The choice is crystal clear.
Personally, I must confess to watching very little of either convention. It has been hot here in SW PA so the best time to do the outdoor work I enjoy is just after daybreak . . . so it has been early to bed for me so I can get those few cool hours.
I’d welcome you to the GOP but I’m an Independent. But welcome to Free Republic! Or if you’ve been here forever, glad to meet you!!
We now have 100 Days left!
And it's only every morning until Nov 8.
We now have 100 Days left!
After that...we'll have either won - or we will be wishing we would have tried harder to support Mr Trump!!
Everything Helps Now Friends, Everything!
With all of Bernie Sanders supporters saying they will not be voting for her, I don’t think she is that high. Maybe they are going over dead voter rolls..
I hope Trump has a plan to deal with voter fraud.
