Donald Trump met with Sen. Ted Cruz on Capitol Hill Thursday -- the first meeting between the two former bitter campaign rivals since Cruz suspended his presidential campaign.
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus was also in the meeting, according to sources. This was Trump's second trip to Capitol Hill in two months.
With less than two weeks before the Republican National Convention commences in Cleveland, Trump is looking to shore up support with the GOP's rank-and-file even as he faces backlash from members of his party. Some Republicans who are facing a tough re-election battle have chosen to skip the convention while others declined to meet with Trump this morning....

Trump/Cruz 2016
I have been saying it since they both got in the race.
I strongly supported Cruz over Trump, but at this point, I don’t see what he brings to the ticket.
Trump needs to hit an inside straight to win in the Electoral College. Look at GW Bush’s 2004 winning map. Bush got VA, CO, IA, NM - that’s going to be a tough haul for Trump, and that’s assuming he gets the necessary FL.
Who could best help Trump in those states, or in a near-mythical GOP win in PA? Don’t know, but I don’t think it’s Cruz.
I had not read that. Now there is a post saying Ivanka came with him...she is sharp, but not a formal staff?
I guess for him maybe that is even better.
How?
Cruz can’t give a speech worth a darn
He is an open borders globalist. He still supports TPP
It’s going to be Trump/Cruz 2016
You could see it coming in October.
“Like blaming Trump for the violence in Chicago? Sorry, Trump isn’t that stupid, but I know a candidate who is........ “
Frankly many of these “True Conservative” Cruz supporters never took the advice to take a hike from JimRob if they still feel a need to campaign for him on FR or play the role of proxy libs.
They are patriots who want only the very best for our country and volunteer their time to represent your party (assuming you're a Republican, if not, you don't have a delegate representing you as only the two parties have delegates)!
They are sworn to abide by their state's party rules!

Which Cruz never did. Trump people just took it that way. Most defensive people I’ve ever seen.
I'm not so sure that it true but Trump would be wise to get a little insurance policy from Cruz just in case.
I've been predicting all along that Cruz will endorse Trump and will get something in exchange. I don't expect that to be the VP Spot but it should be something that Cruz wants.
They will make a deal.
Trump will be happy with the deal.
Cruz will be happy with the deal.
Priebus will be happy with the deal.
Cruz will endorse Trump.
The Cruz Haters here at FR will keep on hating Cruz. It's irrational but it's a fact.
Trump: "Do you endorse me? Are you and your delegates ready to stand down?"
Cruz: "No, we are trying to undermine you via the party platform and my delegates and those that lied to be yours will try and unseat you."
Lyn' Ted needs to endorse Trump and ask his few remaining supporters to stand down. Else, drop from the Republican party.
Like your friend Mitch McConnell?
South Florida is so corrupt that it will take the whole rest of the state to offset their deeds...ask West! He did not have that benefit.

Oh, I think Cruz would be a great help in IA and CO. Probably not so much in NM and VA.
“Most of “these (derogatory statement excluded) people” are just decent people,”
I dont care what they are. They sure as hell aren’t “patriots”.
They go and pull some stunt at the convention, they are no different than some SJW Hillary supporter to me.
You are, respectfully, delusional to think that Natural Born Canadian Lyn’ Ted could be Trump’s VP or have any further role in public life. Hopefully Trump told him “You’re Fired!” today and I look forward to Texas voting him out of office when the opportunity arises.
Maybe Trump wants to lower his "negatives."
In 2004 if 60,000 votes had switched in Ohio it would have been hello President Kerry.
