Donald Trump met with Sen. Ted Cruz on Capitol Hill Thursday -- the first meeting between the two former bitter campaign rivals since Cruz suspended his presidential campaign.
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus was also in the meeting, according to sources. This was Trump's second trip to Capitol Hill in two months.
With less than two weeks before the Republican National Convention commences in Cleveland, Trump is looking to shore up support with the GOP's rank-and-file even as he faces backlash from members of his party. Some Republicans who are facing a tough re-election battle have chosen to skip the convention while others declined to meet with Trump this morning....

That’s adorable.
No answer, just some D-level attempt at snark.

My statement still stands. I guess those in the office are delusional

"I look forward to Texas voting him out of office when the opportunity arises."You're the one who is delusional, thinking that.

Bottom line....Trump has the votes on the first ballot and Cruz does not. The PEOPLE have spoken.
Trump does NOT need his delegates.
To: NohSpinZone
Forget being shouted down.....you are an idiot and need to stop being a brain dead zombie for Cruz! He's a liar, a power hungry liar, dirty trickster, immoral, and NOT an NBC!
Trump needs him anywhere near him, like he needs to contact leprosy and polio! Teddy brings absolutely NOTHING at all to the ticket, the Senate,or this nation.
To: NohSpinZone
Cruz brings the DC knowhow that Trump needs, even if he detests (rightfully) the town and its denizens.
1 term Senator, read Green Eggs and Ham, went along with onerous legislation, long term ties to Bush admin...nope.

I dont care what they are. They sure as hell arent patriots. It comes as no surprise that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The party you want will be able to hold their convention at a local Denny's in the future. It's time to appeal to the biggest tent possible and making peace with Cruz is a big step in that direction. The rabid purists are free to sit in the corner and gnash their teeth with their ideological blinders on, while the more practical people of the movement work to do what's necessary to defeat evil personified.

Oh good grief...that’ll never happen; you might as well yearn for Hillary to do that and drop out of the race.

Let me make this simple for you.
They put their egos away, and their hut fee feels.
They vote how they state did for the guy that won it.
They go home.
If they cant do that, then they are scum PERIOD.
To: nopardons
You got that right: Lyn' Ted brings absolutely NOTHING at all to the ticket, the Senate, or this nation.
Bet Trump told him as much, which is why Cruz slip out of the place without talking to anyone.

Why does Cruz want to divide us ? Why is he not strongly renouncing #nevertrump traitors? Is he trying to unite us against the criminal?

As a member of the USSC, Cruz would be, at last, with his BFF, Justice Roberts. And Cruz would try to get him expelled so he could be Chief Justice.
At one time, this is where I though Cruz would be best.
Now?? Canadian Prime Minister.
To: SunkenCiv
If THAT happens, many won't vote for that ticket. It is THE stupidest thing to even suggest, ever!
A Trump/Sanders ticket makes MORE sensed.
