Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has sunken to third place among independent voters, a new poll reveals.
Clinton pulled just 22 per cent of the independent vote in the latest Fox News poll, finishing behind Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson.
Trump led among independents, pulling 32 per cent of the vote, while Johnson, a former governor of New Mexico, got 23 per cent.
'This is very bad news for Hillary Clinton,' Republican strategist Susan Del Percio told the New York Post. 'She needs independents to win in November.'
Clinton did, however, show a three-point national lead overall in the poll, which was released on Friday.
The poll showed Clinton leading 42 per cent to Trump's 39 per cent in a theoretical match up.
Del Percio noted that the poll showed a drop in overall support for Trump.
'Both candidates must start to broaden their support beyond their base, and hope that Governor Johnson's campaign on the Libertarian line does not gain steam,' she told the Post....

Ahole Johnson may well help her get elected.
Today’s events should even things out again, but his comments on the NM governor were reckless. I’m sorry, they served NO PURPOSE.
HE is GREAT when he’s GREAT but sometimes he makes me go “ouch!”
The fat ankled lying dyke should fall in a hole and get eaten by rats
Today I overheard a good one:
“We hafta vote for Hillary. She’ll be America’s first F president.”
“F? Like failure, grade F?”
“No. Just F. Apparently there is no email”
Couldn’t happen to a better person than the Butcher of Benghazi...hope she’s run out on a rail!!!
Is this Johnson person a Soros/Nazi/IslamoNazi plant to get Hillarity elected? (That’s not a comment about Johnson, who I know nothing about. He might be a wonderful person. Syphoning votes could very well put Hillarity in our White House.....and Soros would fully fund it for sure....Remember that Hillarity has an estimated $2 BILLION dineors backing her, largely from IslamoNazi Muslim dicatorships on the Arabian peninsula and Soros and that ilk...)
That's because the biased poll didn't have as one of the choices: f) lower than whale crap in the Mariana Trench.
She’d be in 4th place if Sanders would go independent.
Hillary Sharia vs Donald Trump: Vote like your life depends on it.
Also, his running mate Weld is a huge turn-off for Libertarians since he was an establishment Republican.
Johnson will get less votes than John Anderson in 1980.
...so be it
But he could still affect the election. My advice to Libertarians —— PUT YOUR JOHNSON AWAY.
Johnson has no base of support. Small-L Libertarians are with Trump and the pot-smoker/open borders type Libertarians will vote Green Party.

Agree on all points. Trump has lost a portion of the conservative base and it is possible they won’t come back into the fold prior to November, but his gains across the board in the most unlikely demographics for a GOP candidate (minorities, union, even traditional democrats) will more than overcome the “never Trump” crowd.
The Clintoon b*tch must never become president. For America’s sake and the sake of the American people.
How? He's already coming out in favor of polygamy. The guy's a total wack job and his running mate is a globalist RINO.
Trump has the Reagan coalition locked up.
Yeah, that’s all changed now. I’m surprised the insane left hasn’t accused Trump of hiring the killer to boost his election chances.
Bush won in 2000 because Ralph Nader got enough votes to delute Gore’s total. Johnson will get a small percentage, but it may change a state or two that would be critical.
