Trump calls on Kasich to quit race: 'He's taking my votes'

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Donald Trump on Sunday called for John Kasich to drop out of the Republican presidential race, arguing that the Ohio governor shouldn't be allowed to continue accumulating delegates if he has no chance of becoming the nominee.

Working to recover his edge after a difficult week, Trump said it wasn't fair for Kasich, who has won only his home state, to continue his campaign. He suggested instead that Kasich, who has pledged to make it to the summer convention, follow the example of Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush — candidates who quit after lagging behind.

"He doesn't have to run and take my votes," he said....

My bet is Kasich is staying in to trade his delegates for open borders/immigration laxness.

That or he wants Ohio’s Obamacare medicare expansion costs forgiven

What ever it is, it isn’t in our best interest

That is it exactly. When it helps him, the rules were written well. When it plays against him, it is unfair and he should be crowned immediately.

Unlike academics, buildings and wives, Money doesn’t buy you the job of President, Don.

#19 hadn’t thought about it like that, but that is what
Donnie is saying.

Kasich supporters are Trump people.

Man that’s got to hurt for him to say!

Kasich’s delusions and hunger for the office might be disturbing if they weren’t so pathetic. Rubio had more support and delegates than him and dropped out. Kasich KNOWS he can’t win and doesn’t care. He’s willing to usurp the will of millions of voters, be those voters for Trump or Cruz, in order that he can get the nomination with the establishment’s help.

It suddenly becomes clear that Trump didn’t bother to learn the ropes. And if he did not have fun, then he has wasted time and money on a corrupt system because he will never be the nominee.

Turns out those votes mean nothing.
Less than nothing. But here he is whining about them.

Neither. Those voting for him and all the others before him, do not like Trump or Cruz.

K-Sick jumped the shark when he said he’s open to naming a Dem VP as his running mate.

Now just doing the GOPe dirty work for them to help bring us to a contested convention.

Kasich has Ohio’s winner-take all delegates. There was a question that came up awhile ago on FR about what would happen to those delegates if Kasich drops out. It might be that by the rules (assuming there are rules) that they would automatically go to Trump on the first ballot.

if Kasich got out, some of his supporters would gravitate to Trump some to Cruz, but probably half would sit out the rest of the primary season. As the field has dwindled, we haven’t seen any candidate move ahead by more than a point or two, so I think most of the supporters sit out the rest of the primaries.

In an odd way, Gov Kasich is doing in the primary elections exactly what Mr. Trump has been threatening to do in the general election. Running as a third party candidate who has no chance of winning just to deny the republican nominee a victory is the same as Gov Kasich staying in without a chance of victory just to deprive Mr. Trump of the nomination. I think that is called poetic justice.

Any opinion on whose votes he’s taking?

I don't think he's taking any votes from Trump, and Trump just sounds like a whiner here. These people were never going to vote for Trump and probably not for Cruz either, I bet they vote in the general for a democrat or no one.
