As it stands, the two people most likely to accept their parties' nominations at this summer's national conventions are Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Each has a sizable lead in delegates; each, we are assured by their opponents, will somehow end up losing.
Those opponents, Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders*, are hardly objective observers of the situation of course, any more than was Marco Rubio, whose last-minute insistence that he would win Florida was heartbreaking in the manner of an afterschool special. ("You'll get 'em next time, Tiger," we all sniffed. "You'll get 'em next time.") But it's an interesting question: How likely is it that one or both of them will end up toppling their party's presumed front-runners?
It's impossible to answer this with certainty, of course, because if we could, we'd know precisely how the next several months are going to play out. But we'll give you our answer up-front: In our estimation, it is more likely that Ted Cruz will be the Republican nominee than it is that Bernie Sanders will be the Democratic one.
* There's another guy running, too. Fella from Ohio? He literally can't win enough delegates to be the nominee, so we'll skip him in this analysis....

Agree. Cruz is starting to look like a spoiler and he’s better than that. I expect poopy faces like Rubio and Ksick to be petulant little children, but not Ted.
I started this election season supporting Ted and then I started supporting Trump.
Now Ted has me regretting that I didn’t support Trump sooner.
He should be stopped .
Go to the Jeb Cruz Facebook and you will see the entire Jeb Cruz troll machine here posting away as campaign staff .
He said Trump will win easy and he was at the Trump rally in which in 48 hours notice they had over 20,000 in the Crowd.
With the technology available today I think all Senators/Rerpresentatives should operate out of an office within their district or state. There is not a thing they do that can’t be done from a local office with the technology available today.
That would keep them available to their constituents as they let a little sun shine on their daily activites. They may become even more productive to their states, etc rather than to the lobbyist.
No, in baseball you can always come back. This is more like down 35-10 with 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Theoretically you can win, but it isn’t gonna happen. Still you gotta play it out.
The shear number of these insane ‘Ted will win’ threads is pretty amazing. Simple math tells you it ain’t gonna happen. Ted is staying in the race for one reason only and its to try and deny Trump from getting to 1237.
Cruz has a small chance.
Bernie has none. He was never supposed to do even this well. He was a stalking horse from day one.
I was listening to a segment on Fox and one of DT’s spokesmen was “debating” a Cruz spokesman. The DT guy tried to turn it into a slug fest. I love hockey because of the fights for honor but seriously there isn’t anything honorable about calling someone a liar without stating why and the truth. It’s so dem.
What I am saying is “to deny Trump from getting to 1237” is to bring back the GOPe.
I don’t think anyone posting on this website, is in favor of bringing back the GOPe.
Nobody.
Totally agree. One thing with trump....lobbyists on the unemployment line.
Every speech, every interview, and ever moment cruz gets to speak then all he ever talks about is the same tiresome , boring lines of “I can beat Trump” I have beaten Trump”, and I am the only one who can stop Trump”
He hardly ever talks about his agenda, his [plans , or the issues now.
+1,000
cruz now is just there to be a spoiler for the establishment and the contested convention.
Very sad as the man had a bright future I thought.
Ted has over time mastered that special “Hillary Factor” That is, the more people see and hear him, the less they like him.
And that’s especially true among us Freepers that are paying attention in the primaries.
Imagine how, if by a miracle of Fatima, he become the republican nominee.
The creepy factor would be through the roof in no time.
Ted’s a disaster.
Not hard to figure out. Both Clinton and Cruz represent the establishment of their respective parties. Stands to reason that Clinton has a lock on the nomination while the GOP establishment is willing to pull every dirty trick in the book to get their guy in there over Trump.
Bernie is staying in to pull the hag further to the left. He’s a hardcore ideologue and all that matters to him is his socialist revolution.
Cruz staying in another few weeks makes no sense, unless he’s trying to throw the nomination to Romney/Ryan/Bush. If he gets less than 50% in Utah tonight and doesn’t suspend tomorrow, you’ll know he’s only in this as a spoiler.
2nd is not a paid troll. He is a well respected conservative here. We may differ on some things, but to call him a troll is ridiculous.
Please don’t emulate certain other people by tossing around those allegations. After all, such has not exactly helped Cruz.
PS I’m a Trump and Cruz supporter. Used to support Cruz more. Now support Trump more. Tired of the infighting. Hillary and Bernie are the opposition.
Ya got that right! NOBODY.
It is a testament to what Trump has done that the GOPe is looking toward Cruz to save them! LOL
Great post! Agree!!!
